Stabilizing The Climate

Now that we have a firm grasp on how to reduce CO2 (simply let the EPA destroy the economy) what target should we aim for to stabilize the climate?

How about 307 ppm? That is far below Hansen’s safe level of 350 ppm.

We could have a dust bowl and a depression! Just like the 1930s.

Maybe 310 ppm? Before global warming, there wasn’t much moisture in the atmosphere to produce snow. Snowfalls must have been very light prior to 350 ppm.

Maybe we should go all the way back to 290 ppm?

The Great Blizzard of 1888 or Great Blizzard of ’88 (March 11 – March 14, 1888) was one of the most severe blizzards in United States’ recorded history. Snowfalls of 40-50 inches (102-127 cm) fell in parts of New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and sustained winds of over 45 miles per hour (72 km/h) produced snowdrifts in excess of 50 feet (15.2 m). Railroads were shut down and people were confined to their houses for up to a week.[1]

Record low temperatures, heavy snowfall observed across Japan

TOKYO (Kyodo) — A cold air mass caused heavy snowfall across Japan on Sunday, with temperatures dropping to record lows in some parts of the country, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The weather agency warned of strong winds, heavy snow and high waves across a wide range of areas, particularly along the Sea of Japan coast, through Monday as a strong cold air mass and wintry pressure pattern continues to hover around Japan.

Shock News : The Climate Didn’t Used To Be Stable

But Hansen said that we could stabilize the climate at 350 ppm. I’m devastated.

There is no agreed beginning year to the Little Ice Age, although there is a frequently referenced series of events preceding the known climatic minima. Starting in the 13th century, pack ice began advancing southwards in the North Atlantic, as did glaciers in Greenland. The three years of torrential rains beginning in 1315 ushered in an era of unpredictable weather in Northern Europe which did not lift until the 19th century. There is anecdotal evidence of expanding glaciers almost worldwide. In contrast, a climate reconstruction based on glacial length[7][8] shows no great variation from 1600 to 1850, though it shows strong retreat thereafter.

For this reason, any of several dates ranging over 400 years may indicate the beginning of the Little Ice Age:

1250 for when Atlantic pack ice began to grow
1300 for when warm summers stopped being dependable in Northern Europe
1315 for the rains and Great Famine of 1315-1317
1550 for theorized beginning of worldwide glacial expansion
1650 for the first climatic minimum.

Move The Polar Bears To Mississippi

Environmentalists tell us that there isn’t any ice in the Arctic for the bears. Fortunately, we do seem to have plenty of ice available in the deep south.

A simple solution to the bear problem would be to relocate the bears to Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia, where there is lots of cold and ice. Apparently -81F just isn’t cold enough to form ice any more in the Arctic, due to the excess CO2.

Global Warming Causes Fog To Increase And Decrease

It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the cold water offshore. Climate science is full of geniuses.

German Scientist : Cold Hot Water Causing Floods

Rahmstorf: A warmer climate increases precipitation because most of the moisture in the air comes from the oceans by way of evaporation. So if the sea gets warmer, you’ll always get more rain too.

Rahmstorf: Yes, of course its La Nina that’s the direct cause

So the record cold La Nina ocean temperatures are making the ocean warmer. I’m starting to wonder if there is a maximum allowable IQ for climate scientists.
