Week 7 of 2010 had the second largest Northern Hemisphere snow cover of the 2372 weeks in the Rutgers record. The snowiest week ever was week 6 of 1978.
The graph above shows the number of weeks per decade which ranked in the top fifty. Snow declined from the 1970s through the 1990s as winters warmed, but winters have cooled dramatically during the past decade.
During the 1990s, the mild winters were blamed on global warming. Now the cold winters are blamed on global warming – by the same snake oil salesmen.
Al Gore, Hansen and friends have been telling a generation of kids that they and their families are destroying the planet and that they have no future.
Does this cause dangerous anti-social behaviour? Certainly. We can’t say that what happened in Tucson was caused by by Al Gore, but we do expect the frequency of anti-social behaviour by children to increase in the future.
I always loved science and weather, and it is painful watching team AGW butcher it. The trend towards cold, snowy winters is a very interesting story – but the climate science community seems determined to cover it up. A true scientist would embrace the challenge, not stick their head up their posterior.
Do they have any idea how pathetic they have become? They exist only for self-perpetuation.
“How far can it go? The last time the world was three degrees warmer than
today – which is what we expect later this century – sea levels were 25m
higher.”
This is the world’s greatest climatologist speaking. Yuma, Arizona will be underwater. You can expect to see sea level rise more than one metre every four years. Plan on one foot of sea level rise every year, or about one inch per month.
(Never mind that sea level hasn’t risen an inch in California during the past century.)
Climate scientists who make statements about warming at the poles should be required to winter there.

Maybe it is the record cold water west of Brazil that Romm is talking about?
