Rudolph Attacks

06 December 2010

A HILL walker has told how she endured a two-hour reindeer attack in the Highlands.

Pat Cook, 57, from Renfrew, was walking alone in the Cromdale hills east of Grantown-on-Spey when she spotted a light-coloured deer in the distance. Shortly after she reached the summit of Carn a’Ghille Chearr, the reindeer reappeared and charged her, throwing her on to her back.

She said: “One of my walking poles was thrown into the air. The reindeer kept trying to stick its antlers into me, but I managed to brace my feet on them. I began bashing it over the head with my other walking pole. I couldn’t believe what was happening, and I was aware that I was running out of strength.

“I was shouting for help but there was no-one there. I couldn’t keep it at bay any longer and collapsed in a heap with my rucksack protecting my back.

Dems Whine About Global Warming As Massive Cold Blast Heads Towards Washington

http://wxmaps.org/pix/temp1.html

“Disbanding the select committee does not diminish the urgent need to act on these very critical issues,” (House Speaker Nancy) Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said…..

“We’re one of the only countries of the world where leading government officials deny settled science,” said Daniel J. Weiss, a climate specialist with the Center for American Progress Action Fund. “There couldn’t be a more important time to have a select committee on energy independence and global warming.”

Panel supporters say they worry that the dozens of new “tea-party”-supported conservatives in the House will further push the House away from addressing energy and climate issues.

(Boxer) says voters defeated Prop 23, “by an overwhelming margin because they’ve seen with their own eyes the wind turbines and the solar panels and clean vehicles that are the future and they refuse to turn back the clock on California’s commitment to combat global warming.

Romm Goes Arctic Deep Stupid, Again

Really, Joe.

“Examination of several proxy records (e.g., sediment cores) of sea ice indicate ice-free or near ice-free summer conditions for at least some time during the period of 15,000 to 5,000 years ago”

No Pressure : Ancient Peruvians Sacrificed Children To Control The Climate

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f9Uut62V0k&feature=related]

In the Lambayeque valley on the north coast of the country, the earliest definitive evidence of ritual child sacrifice has been uncovered. The bloodletting took place at a site called Cerro Cerrillos.

Klaus speculates that the rituals may have been driven by the failure of the Moche warrior sacrifices to drive away bad weather brought by El Nino. If adults didn’t work, why not try kids? When the belief system and the religion were challenged by reality, he says, it could have had knock-on effects. “It shows the interplays between environmental change, culture, politics and religion.”

Precautionary Principle : Prevent People From Falling In Love

Falling in love with a new partner can potentially lead to a horrible death by communicable disease – only after great public health expense. The only sensible approach is for government to stop people from falling in love.

This has the added advantage of preventing new planet-destroying life forms (children) from being born.
