The Bristol Channel Flood Of 1607

We are coming up on the 403rd anniversary of the Bristol Channel Flood.

On 30 January 1607 the Bristol Channel floods resulted in the drowning of an estimated 2,000 or more people, with houses and villages swept away, an estimated 200 square miles (518 km2) of farmland inundated and livestock destroyed,[1] wrecking the local economy along the coasts of the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary, in what was then the Kingdom of England.

The devastation was particularly severe on the Welsh side, extending from Laugharne in Carmarthenshire to above Chepstow in Monmouthshire. Cardiff was the most badly affected town.[2] The coasts of Devon and the Somerset Levels as far inland as Glastonbury Tor, 14 miles (23 km) from the coast, were also affected. The sea wall at Burnham-on-Sea gave way,[3] and the water flowed over the low lying levels and moors. Thirty villages in Somerset were affected, including Brean which was “swallowed up” and where seven out the nine houses were destroyed with 26 of the inhabitants dying. For ten days the Church of All Saints at Kingston Seymour, near Weston-super-Mare, was filled with water to a depth of 5 feet (1.5 m). A chiselled mark remains showing that the maximum height of the water was 8 metres above sea level.[4]

Now that we are all faced with the imminent danger of invisible, harmless, trace gas CO2 – we all long for the good old days where all we had to deal with was Smallpox, Plague, Tuberculosis, 50% infant mortality and an average life expectancy of 30 years.

Greens hope to bring us back to that paradise.

Romm Vs Rational Thought

CO2 levels during the Dust Bowl were less than 310 ppm – far below Hansen’s safe level of 350 ppm. Now that CO2 levels have risen to almost 400 ppm, the climate is infinitely better than it was during the Dust Bowl.

UN BS Machine Continues To Crank In High Gear

http://www.dailymail.co.uk

The oceans are alkaline, not acid. The 30% number is something they pulled out of their posteriors. Corals and shellfish evolved when atmospheric CO2 levels were 10-20X higher than today. It is beyond ludicrous to claim that CO2 is reducing their ability to form shells. The chemical properties of Aragonite have not changed.

These people are determined to take control of world governance no matter how many lies they have to tell.

Palin : “And, PETA, please remember: Alaskans eat, therefore we hunt.”

“See how we fill our freezers and feed our families with home-grown tundra-roaming Alaskan wild game,” wrote Palin on Facebook.  “And, PETA, please remember: Alaskans eat, therefore we hunt.”

She also indicated that the episode would showcase the potential for oil drilling in Alaska’s Article National Wildlife Refuge.  “You’ll also see us hunting at the edge of ANWR,” Palin promised,  “where you can see the uninhabited lands that warehouse billions of barrels of American energy supplies underground just waiting for the political will to allow responsible resource development.”

And for anyone who considers hunting “controversial,” Palin had this message: “Unless you’ve never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight’s episode.”

Hansen Tells Freezing Britain To Stop Burning Coal

http://www.mirror.co.uk

He apparently wants the UK to switch to motionless windmills and nearly non-existent solar energy during the winter. He also warns that if the UK doesn’t stop burning coal, temperatures will get even hotter than they are now.

http://www.guardian.co.uk

He got that part right. Someone in government is definitely telling lies about the climate.
