Kiribati is asking for “climate change mitigation funding” from stupid westerners this week, because sea level is rising there at a rate of six inches per century.

Below are some pictures showing what Kiribati looked like in the 1940s.

Tarawa, was a World War II battlefield whose coral and sand landscape was turned into a charred crisp that resembled something like a lunar surface by Allied and Japanese forces.

I overlayed the IABP buoy 60 day track map on the NSIDC end of September ice map. You can see that the multi-year ice (turquoise and green) is remaining fairly steady. Most of the buoy movement into the Fram Strait has been from regions of predominantly first year ice.

This bodes well for a large increase in spring MYI relative to 2009.

Human-caused climate disruption could make Maine’s Acadia National Park as hot this century as Atlantic City, New Jersey, has been, according to a new report from RMCO and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). If future emissions of heat-trapping pollutants continue at a medium-high level, the average of the projections from 16 climate models is that Acadia would get 8.5°F hotter by 2070-2099 than it was in 1961-1990.

I can’t do this anymore, this climate change hysteria. And I consider myself both progressive and a liberal too, so hear me out. I found out what “they” all agree on, they agree that the effects of CO2 are predicted to be anywhere from unstoppable warming, to no noticeable effects at all. No wonder they all agreed. And it’s been 24 years. We look like we WANT this climate hell to happen. We have been had folks. This is OUR Iraq War of lies and fear. I’m both embarrassed and ashamed for endorsing this CO2 mistake through two and a half decades of dire warnings of doom and Armageddon.. But I was too much of a climate coward to actually say out loud: THE END IS NEAR. Because it’s exactly the same thing! I actually gave my kids CO2 death threats. Why? Why did I do this for so long? Let history know that this responsible environmentalist is now a Green Climate Change Denier.

The people prosecuting the case for global warming are withholding evidence.

They know that temperatures are rising much slower than they forecast – “where the heck is global warming.” Hansen knows that the highway outside his office isn’t underwater.

They know that Antarctic sea ice is growing. They know that winters have seen a dramatic decline in temperature over the last decade. They know that sea level is barely rising, if at all. They know that the last decade has seen record winter snowfall. They know that there has not been an increase in hurricanes or tornadoes. They know that the hottest/driest years were in the 1930s. They know that sea level has been rising and glaciers melting for thousands of years.

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

Someone should explain to the EPA/UCS that power plants are producers of electricity, not consumers. Asking a power plant to be energy efficient may not be a winning strategy.
