Met Office : Arctic To Warm 15.2C By The End Of The Century

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climatechange/news/latest/four-degrees.html

In some areas warming could be significantly higher (10 degrees or more).

The Arctic could warm by up to 15.2 °C for a high-emissions scenario, enhanced by melting of snow and ice causing more of the Sun’s radiation to be absorbed.

For Africa, the western and southern regions are expected to experience both large warming (up to 10 °C) and drying.

Some land areas could warm by seven degrees or more.

Broder Down The Rabbit Hole

For John Broder – this is science :

“Climate change is real, and man is causing it,” Mr. Hill said, echoing most climate scientists. “That is indisputable. And we have to do something about it.”

That sounds like a statement of faith, not science. Broder then turns logic on its ear.

Skepticism and outright denial of global warming are among the articles of faith of the Tea Party movement, here in Indiana and across the country.

Skepticism forms the basis of science, but for Broder, faith is science and science is faith. Then he launches a non sequitur tirade of smears against skeptics.

Climate Change Confuses Most Journalists And Academics

This article needed a little proofreading. My edits below.

Most Americans (academics) don’t understand climate change, a Yale study has shown. Of the 63 percent of U.S. adults that believe that global warming is happening, only one in 10 say (think) they are “very well informed” on the issue.

Yale’s Americans’ Knowledge of Climate Change report takes a look at what people know about global warming and climate change, including its impacts, causes, and possible solutions. Funded by the National Science Foundation, it surveyed a demographic mix of 2,030 American adults.

Hiding The Decline

Your team is losing the game with five minutes to play, and no hope in sight. How do you win?

The graph above was the IPCC view of the world in 1990. Nothing scary there, and that simply needed more research to get sorted out properly.

So their careful studies killed off that nasty MWP, and started to build the hockey stick using temperature proxies. Temperature proxy studies commonly use  tree rings to measure past temperatures. This method worked really well until the trees apparently went on strike in 1960. Briffa in green, Jones in red, and Mann in blue.

Rooney Blames His Problems on Fergie

That makes sense. Rooney barely got a touch on the ball for three weeks in South Africa, and it is Sir Alex’s fault.

Maybe a better approach for Wayne would be to either lose weight or move back to midfield? He isn’t quick enough any more to beat the defenders in front of the goal, and hasn’t been scoring since the ancient days when Obama’s opinion polls were over 50%. Rooney could extend his career for few more years at midfield, like Beckham did.

I suppose that Sir Alex made him cheat too?
