Bi-Polar Disorder

In 2008 Daily Kos announced that the Wilkins Ice Shelf in Antarctica was about to disappear and that the Arctic would be ice-free by 2012.

UPDATE: Bridge to Wilkins Ice Shelf Faces Imminent Collapse

Based on Google Earth imagery it appears that the Wilkins Ice Shelf is still there and may be larger than it was in 2008.

Climate alarmists will ignore their past failures and turn their attention back to Antarctica and claim that sea ice is the lowest on record.

1873 Change Of Climate

“As an example of well authenticated climatic changes, we may mention that Iceland and Eastern Greenland are very much colder than they were five hundred years ago. In Iceland the immense trees which used to be common there have ceased to grow, though there are abundant evidences of the large growth at a former period, say in the fourteenth century, while on the opposite shores of Greenland, several valleys that were known to have been inhabited formerly, have become wholly inaccessible in consequence of haring been invaded by ice.”

The Enormity Of Ignorance

“…you want to see the climate crisis in action My trip to Greenland coincided with one of the only instances of rainfall on the ice sheet. As an environmental journalist, faced with the enormity of global warming every day – you’d think this wouldn’t phase me. But seeing how shocked, and genuinely upset, our Greenlandic guides were by this rain moved me (and others) to tears.”

Every winter huge amounts of ice accumulates on the Greenland ice sheet.  It doesn’t all melt and the excess flows to the sea and calves off glaciers.

Five years ago this is what CNN and the Washington Post were saying about the Jakobshavn glacier. They recruited a Hollywood actor who is married to someone from Greenland as their expert.

The Jakobshavn glacier is growing for the first time in 170 years.

In March, a NASA-led research team announced that Jakobshavn Isbrae, is … thickening and advancing toward the ocean

Following the study’s publication, additional analyses show Jakobshavn grew thicker by 22 and 33 yards (20 to 30 meters) each year from 2016 to 2019.”
