The P-1000 is much larger and heavier than the P-900.  The viewfinder is much clearer, the automatic focus is better and faster, and it has a manual focus ring which I depend on a lot. The Washington Post says Florence will be the first category 4 hurricane to hit the Carolinas, and it is President Trump’s fault.  They also say there is no reasonable doubt (evil) humans are priming the Earth for disasters.

As is almost always the case, the fake news Washington Post is simply making up fake facts.  The east coast was hit by three major hurricanes in 1954, including the last two to hit New England (Carol and Edna.) The third major hurricane of 1954 (Hazel) was a category 4, which made landfall at the North/South Carolina border, and then wreaked havoc all the way up into Canada where it killed more than 100 people.  Hazel was Canada’s deadliest hurricane.

Had the scientists in 1988 actually done any research, they would have known that Hurricane Gilbert (which was hitting the Yucatan thirty years ago today) had 220 MPH wind gusts. Meteorologists were “caught off guard” by how rapidly the storm intensified in only one day to 175 MPH winds.

By contrast, Florence is forecast to stall and wind speeds slow down considerably before making landfall.

Now he has granted the Arctic a ten year reprieve, and says the Arctic will be ice-free in summer five years from now, and will be ice-free year round shortly thereafter.

In his video, Beckwith also blamed meridional circulation and stalled weather patterns on global warming. In 1975, climate scientists blamed the exact same things on global cooling. They apparently are unable to distinguish between cooling and warming.

With Hurricane Florence forecast to stall over the Carolinas, climate scientists snake oil salesmen will (of course) be parroting the same gibberish about a global warming caused wavy jet stream and polar vortex. The exact opposite of what they said in 1974.
