  1. Dave G says:

Steve, I just can’t comment anymore on this garbage, the hole just gets bigger. Getting my popcorn and watching, hope your having fun in Lisbon

  2. Mohib says:

Well this is progress (before the science was settled, but looks like now people are starting to position themselves to disembark the AGW ship):

“Global warming is controversial, of course, but the controversy is mainly over whether human activity is driving it. There is almost uniform agreement from both sides of the debate that the Earth is heating up, as carefully recorded by numerous ground stations and satellites.”

I couldn’t imagine any mainstream news outlet every admitting AGW is controversial a year ago.

    • Stefan says:

Wow, yes. Global warming used to be so controversial that to even suggest that it was controversial was controversial. Now it is just controversial?

I wonder who it was who first noticed the glimmer of a 30 year cycle… when they really needed it to be a 60 year cycle so it could just keep warming “consistently”. I’ll bet that put a look of fear on their faces. They may not even have the “it’s warming” leg to stand on in another 10 years.

  3. suyts says:

Sigh, but the arctic is sooooo hot, where did the arctic air cool?

  4. Jimbo says:

The good professor Michio Kaku has missed the bandwaggon. Get off while you can if you want to retain any reputation you have left. History may judge you badly. I am very serious.

  5. Andy Weiss says:

The last two winters have been very wild along the East Coast. What that has to do with global warming is beyond me. There were lots of wild winters back in the days of Jefferson and Washington.

  6. Russ says:

I guess flotsam and jetsam is showing up again. First Suzi-Q now this guy! Now you know history repeats it’s self!

    • It's always Marcia, Marcia says:

Unfortunately Mr. Kaku is brilliant in the area of string theory and theoretical physics and because of that he is highly respected. I say unfortunately because he will influence some people in the wrong direction when it comes to global warming. Climate is not his strong suit, clearly. He is not accounting for snow covering a larger portion of the Northern Hemisphere. That fact is not consistent with global warming ‘physics’. No ‘physics’ of warming in climate can account for that. Only cooling can account for that.

  7. It's always Marcia, Marcia says:

Mr. Kaku should stick to string theory.

    • Brian G Valentine says:

That is some good news for the week, anyway.

I don’t think people care very much for having their intelligence mocked, as in the manner of “Professor” Kaku, here.

Are such “scientists” aware of the effect they have on people? Evidence seems to suggest not.

  8. Brian G Valentine says:

Common sense says that it’s the freezing cold that is behind the freaky weather. But physics says otherwise.

Correction: The science of “fysics” says otherwise. “Fysics” is a discipline that explains anything you want by any absurd argument you pick. If you have some phenomenon that doesn’t jibe with your wishes or your politics, you turn to “fysics” to explain it.

There are number of PhD’s of “fysics” out there, unfortunately US universities are hell-bent on turning out a whole lot more of them

    • Russ says:

I hear ya BGV, it wil never ends until this is finally put to rest.

      • Brian G Valentine says:

It won’t be put to rest because of the simple psychological impediment to admitting error.

As a result of this simple human condition, people will “see” oceans warming, glaciers melting, temperatures rising ad infinitum, polar ice caps disappearing, sea levels rising, birds migrating “north” for just as long as their minds convince themselves they see it.

      • Russ says:

yes, all those things will continue to happen, as it always did before.

      • Russ says:

And It is good to hear from you again Brian. I have not seen you post on CCD in a while. Well it used to be CCF then.

  9. Russ says:

But some think, if we pay carbon tax or credits, we willhave a stable climate. Too funny when they go fron global warming to climate change like they did. But hey they changed that too to climate disruption for ovious reasons. But the song remains the same!
