Even with a huge episode of high latitude blocking (AKA Warmcold) in December and January, the ice still looks pretty healthy at this point.
I still think it will be less than 5×10 6 km2 for summer minimum.
Steve said that the wind can change extent values by 500 000km2 in a couple of days but this is not true at the minima, typical changes there are much less than 50 000 per day.
