He went on the offensive against climate change deniers, citing a litany of extreme weather events – ranging from floods in Pakistan to droughts in the U.S. southwest – and noted that nine of the 10 hottest years on record have occurred in the last 12 years.

Disagree about the guilt thing. Guilt is a specifically Christian thing; I don’t think other religions have it as a central part of their belief. Yes, for sure, the gods are displeased and must be appeased when a volcanoe erupts, but otherwise, party on!

If you’re taking the long view, 20,000 years, you must look at the long view the other way before you jump to conclusions and panic sets into your brain as it so clearly has.

NASA, not to be outdone, made up a half-life of 1000 years. No scientific basis.

Above ground nuclear testing left a signature isotope that was measured to determine the CO2 life in the atmosphere. I do not remember the exact figures but even 100 years is magnitudes high. I think the 30 year is also on the high side because of the yearly variation measured compared to the estimated extent of the carbon cycle!
If we’re re-introducing 90 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every day then nature is putting 2250 tons of CO2 into the atmospehere every day so who cares?
