Despite the fact that they are releasing the most water they have in many years, Lake Powell is now gaining more than 12″ per day, with most of the snowpack still in place in the mountains.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Lake Mead too, is benefitting form all that melting snow:
“This year’s release will be so great that bureau officials will need a few extra weeks to deliver it all. Otherwise they would have to bypass the generators at Lake Powell’s Glen Canyon Dam and give up an opportunity to generate electricity with some of the water.”

Considering that inflows should be high through August, it won’t be far off the record according to my math.
August 11-Jun11 = 60 days
3631 + 60 = 3691
record = 3708.34
The warmistas are probably chanting to Gaia for continued cold in the mountains along with the usual fervent self flagellation for a hot summer.
The inflow has probably not reached max and they are releasing what they consider the MAX as they are running in through the generators rather than by pass as the reservoir will handle the expected flow. It appears they were expecting a large inflow late last year so increased the outflow to allow space for the expected water. Looking at the past years figures shows the difference.
I think you’re giving them too much credit. I don’t think they make the connection. Warmistas aren’t that bright.
