Living The Green Dream

Greens tell us that our lives would be better without readily available fossil fuels. Obama’s science advisor said that the US is threatened by too much energy.

Greens shut off the lights in New York and bragged about their ability to survive an hour when they had to rely on their phones for electronic entertainment.

A couple of recent events put this theory to the test. An earthquake in 2011 gave Japan the opportunity to experience the joys of living without an adequate supply of fossil fuels.

New York is currently experiencing a similar opportunity at green joy.

New York City authorities say a motorist was arrested after he tried to cut in line at a gas station in Queens early Thursday and pointed a pistol at another motorist who complained.

Drivers in parts of New York and New Jersey lined up Thursday for hours at gas stations that were struggling to stay supplied. The power outages and flooding caused by Superstorm Sandy have forced many gas stations to close and disrupted the flow of fuel from refineries to those stations that are open.

Pretending that we don’t need fossil fuels is fun for complete morons like Bill McKitten and Barack Obama, but without fossil fuels society would collapse into a Mad Max state in a matter of days.

I would go without anything if there was a good reason to do so. The issue is that there is no good reason to go without fossil fuels.

Air pollution in the Western world has decreased significantly since anti pollution measures were introduced in the 1970’s (real pollution, not CO2 which is actually a net benefit to the environment).

    See the attached, for example.

    • I lived in Northern New Mexico during much of the 1950s and the 1960s, when the air was often so filthy that you often couldn’t see clearly across the Rio Grande Valley or the Grand Canyon. Apollo astronauts could see the pollution from space. After they put electrostatic precipitators on the smoke stacks at power plants, the particulates were reduced by 97%.

If only we could convince all the green idiots to move a fossil fuel free zone. Then their whining twitterings, and fallacious broadcasts would subside to an occasional background burp that would be safely ignored.

  3. I expect the kids who turned off their lights for Earth Hour didn’t switch off their iPads, which fortunately will run for more than an hour without needing to be plugged into the wall.

Nothing quite like forced subsitance. It would be nice to see some newspapers in these affected areas urge their readers to remember what they’re going through now when earth day comes along next April and if they really want to live like the animals that they now are, even for an hour.
