While Latinos are gaining in political clout, they are also falling down the economic ladder, new Census numbers show.
Latinos poverty rates climbed to 28 percent after the census reconfigured its algorithm to take into account medical costs and government programs.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Well that explains why the Democrat base is growing.
But that’s the irony. If the economy goes bad for me, well maybe I fly premium economy rather than business class. But if it goes bad for the fiscally challenged, then they are back on food stamps…
And many of us refuse to get food stamps…it’s called “making do”. There are too many comfortable people leading the world, and mouthing off about economics, in our view.
It isn’t just food stamps. Subsidized housing, earned income tax credit, home heating credit, college tuition and on and on. What used to be a stigma is now viewed as normal and expected.
As the quote goes:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.
“From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising them the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”
Even though we have a Republic and not a democracy which is mob rule, it has descended to the status of a majority of takers demanding from the makers.
