Schneider is claiming that in the 1970s “we” knew that carbon dioxide would overheat the Earth, the following image is shown: look, it says “Climatic Change” there, and that portion of a graph appears to show rising temperatures!
However, there is a big, big, big problem with using this image: It’s from a famous Newsweek article called “The Cooling World”, from April 28, 1975 (PDF here). Note that when you are allowed to see the entire graph (below), it shows plunging temperatures since the 1940s. Note that when you see the entire article, it contains a climate change “solution” that involves “melting the arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot”.
When the evidence is against you, twist it to be for you. Warm causes cold.
The screaming girl hanging by a limb above the floodwaters was hilarious.
“melting the arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot”.
Which we are now doing.

Lie lie and lie again , standard operating procedure of a agw climate scare monger .

Generally speaking you can plot Schneider historically by monitoring the decline of his afro. I have seen him on video admitting he was wrong about the global cooling scare, with a full afro, which I’d estimate would be early 70’s. He switches to global warming late 70’s. The video he is in (seriously declining afro) is dated ’79. So I suppose the claim that the scare switched in the 70’s is not incorrect. It’s the information he leaves out, that is where the dishonesty comes in.
Note also that he claims that the evidence for AGW is overwhelming, and that tipping points are ‘certain’, yet if we pass a tipping point it may take 50 years to figure that out. It’s a strange sort of science that is ‘certain’ of X yet takes 50 years to notice if X had even occurred.
The early Al Gore, eh? With Al Gore its his weight gain and not the afro.
