According to the Storm Prediction Center, there was a record low in the number of tornado and severe weather watches issued for 2012. Since moving into their Norman, OK office in 1997, there has never been as few watches as this year’s 697. 2012 will also finish with nearly 400 less tornado reports than the 7 year average. According to NOAA’s NCDC, 2012 will finish nearly 140 less than the 1991-2010 average.

But Steve, the SPC did not say that there would have been even fewer storms without CO2-caused climate disruption. That would have made an even lower record.

Of course the one storm that mattered hit a week before the election, and with the big fat climate change pusher from NJ saying how wonderful our preezy is, and Bloomberg et al saying that it’s all about climate change and that’s why he is endorsing Obama, climate change became a pivotal issue on the margin, and contributed to O’s loathsome victory. Climate Change is an issue that matters as far as elections, and it looks like it tilted toward getting more Democrats elected this time, including O.
That’s why we need an aggressive public relations / advertising campaigns to change public opinion. The evidence and arguments are on our side, but the people don’t know this evidence and argument. It could make a huge difference in the next presidential and congressional elections. Someone take the reins; conservatives would contribute huge $ to help any ad campaign that was shown to be effective. Think about it.

In 2011, lots of severe weather was caused by global warming and in 2012, lack of severe weather was caused by global warming. Sound familiar?
