Not difficult to see where Obama is taking this country. He is getting the Army conditioned to conduct military operations inside the US.

Streets around the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts were closed Tuesday night by Miami-Dade police.
Officers in the area about 10 p.m. said the closure was because of an “event,” and that the streets would reopen in about an hour. It is possible that the event is connected to military training exercises.
Miami-Dade police sent out a warning Monday that multiple police agencies would provide support for a joint military training exercise somewhere over Miami and elsewhere in the county. The exercise was to include the use of military helicopters.
SkyEye 13 HD was over the south side where at first look, it appears there’s a massive SWAT scene happening.
People have been calling police, as well as our newsroom, saying they’re hearing gunshots in the area of Scott and Airport. It turns out, the Army says, it’s a multi-agency training drill. They’re doing it at the old Carnegie High School.
Helicopters were also involved. The Army isn’t giving any details of what the training is about.

To think that these operations started under Obama is to be naive. They’ve been carried out under the last several administrations and lets not forget the last private citizen confiscation from the US Armed Forces was carried out under the Bush Jr administration.

Uh, I’ve still got mine. No visit from the military. If they were out collecting guns, they forgot to take them. There have been transgressions by past administrations. It’s just increased by an order of magnitude under Obungo. I suspect less than 10 peaceful years remain in the US.
You’ll have to try harder than that to blame crap on a Republican. As I recall it was New Orleans cops under a democrat administration that did the confiscating. They lost a lawsuit and had to return the firearms. Plus it was local cops. Not the military.
Can’t happen in America? It should be clear the government is planning on a war against law abiding American citizens when the shtf.

In my book (and I did a drafted stint in the US Army, and know they have plenty of room to practice in, on their own land), I think it is already h__ing the f__n, when the military literally goes off the (military) reservation.
Given the racial tensions in the US, and economic divisions, it would probably be prudent for such exercises to be carried out by any president. Not because it seems likely a military take-over of the government were to occur, but rather if something more probable, such as the collapse of the bond market due to excessive borrowing, led to economic hardships that then lead on to civil unrest, rioting, etc. Think Greek protests…

Undoubtedlly, the current administration is prepping his troops for a declaration of martial law when the dollar collapses and supermarket shelves run bare. At that point, he and his jack-booted gendarmes will attempt to confiscate guns. Good luck with that plan.

Will, we’re not Greeks. You need to understand the cultural differences. If there is civil unrest in the US, it is because it is necessary, and we will be appropriately equipped to handle such event.

look at the recent news stories about riots at food stamp offices, section 8 voucher handouts, etc, to see the reality that the government is running out of treats to keep their spoiled children pacified. when the masses learn that the cupboard is bare, they will strip the cities bare searching for their fair share.

Obama implied before he was even elected that he didn’t like people clinging to their guns and their Bibles. When it starts going down and the govt forces start busting heads watch all of the “peace loving” libz squeal with unalloyed glee.
As was demonstrated after Katrina, the government has no qualms about violating the Constitutional Rights of law abiding American citizens.
All the government need do, under direction of the president, is to classify individuals or groups as terrorists and/or declare martial law. Posse Comitatus has already been suspended; it no longer is in force. The Patriot Act and NDAA give government and the president unlimited power in such cases to arrest and detain indefinitely without due process or charges, not to mention Obama’s EO directives effectively ignoring 2nd Amendment Rights among others.
If law abiding citizens roll over and turn in their guns assuming SCOTUS will rescue us, it is truly over. If citizens refuse to comply and resist, a full military intervention will ensue. What will we do?
