NOAA : Turning A Cooling Trend Into A Strong Warming Trend

Raw NOAA US temperature data shows that US temperatures have been cooling for 90 years, and that 2012 is tied with 1921 at 55.3 degrees.

NOAA then takes this data and massages it into a strong warming trend, with 2012 much hotter than any other year. These government scientists are truly talented people.

They get together with a few of their global warming pals and agree that it is OK to turn a cooling trend into a warming trend, and then make huge press releases intended to alter policy. That is called peer-reviewed settled science.

Do we not yet have enough evidence to formulate multiple class action lawsuits? I would envision all sorts of “pain and suffering” claims, “loss of income”, “loss of future wages”, “hunger of the poor”, etc… I can see a plethora of various claims running into hundreds of billions of dollars and keeping the CAGW fraudsters engaged in lawsuit defense for the next few millennia. Count me a participant if anyone can start some of these up!

“Do we not yet have enough evidence to formulate [. . .] ”

Yes, we surely do! But formulating is one thing, having a strong case is another. For one thing, ever hear of sovereign immunity? Trying to understand that can give one a real bad headache! But we should keep hammering the falling temps, because as long as the weather is cooling, it can only be a matter of time before someone competent in that skill set picks up the ball. I for one think that we could do well to keep the pressure on prominent lukewarmers to wake up to the realities that Steven has uncovered and/or publicized. I seem to have sensed a certain hesitation from McIntyre and Roy Spencer in this area. This particular Berlin Wall has not yet toppled, but it is severely battered and I think I can see daylight poking through a few holes. I haven’t been so active the last year because of other demands on my time. But I see it as a kind of relay race with the sledgehammer — we hit that wall and hit it, and we get tired, we pass it to someone else to does the same. As long as the weather is cooperating, there is hope, and we each must give whatever support we can. We have to try to enlarge our circle to pull this off. I tried last month at WUWT to spur a picket of Michael Mann’s office, but got no takers — not one. Hugh K said it was a good idea, but didn’t say he’d be there. Hopefully that shows you the amount of work that we’ve got cut out for us before we can think of winning in court.

As another example, just consider the fact that Steven wants to remain anonymous. I fully respect that, but realistically it makes it a lot harder to gain more converts. He is a great presenter and I have no doubt that he would make a phenomenal public speaker on these issues. All in due time, perhaps.

There is more snow now covering the Northern Hemisphere than this same date in 2007.

If there has been six more years of warming, that is not the result one would expect.

Somebody’s got some ‘splainin’ to do…

Climate liars need to be spending time making license plates.
