Instead of heating homes, the Government should release that methane directly into the air…
…then the greenhouse effect will have it toasty outside in no time flat !
    Problem solved.

  2. They have windmills for back-up, relax.

It’s interesting to see the response of the Greens–build more offshore wind farms so we don’t have to rely on gas, that “dirty fossil fuel”. Can’t wait for the winter when the heat goes off and the lights go out in Britain. Judging from the comments following the Mail article, the people of Britain will blame that day on the profit mongering energy companies. Sad to see that once great country being laid low by the misanthropes.

    • Whatever happens won’t be their fault. I noted recently that one UK green activist group is now protesting skyrocketing energy prices. The skyrocketing energy prices were directly due to their strong advocacy of renewables. But they are blaming the problem on greedy energy corporations instead.

Digging black rocks out of the ground that burn is about as cheap and low tech as you can get. Embrace the gifts from Mother Nature… they’re NATURAL.

UK green activist groups will probably push hard now for their best solution – more wind-farms.

But this UK newspaper report from January says it’s all getting warmer and this year will be the same –

    • Note that their ‘record’ warm summer had an average temperature of 14.6C. This is what they are complaining about. At that rate, they will all die of heat exhaustion. 🙂

      • tckev says:

Well maybe this year it will average 14.7C. that’s drought weather there as they have stocks of water as high as stocks of gas.
        🙂

In the UK we have freezing conditions, less than two days of gas reserves and today one of our few remaining coal fired power plants was forced to close down http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/news/yourtown/didcot/10306526.print/

    God help us.

Don’t you wish that you could go out and chop down those useless wind turbines and burn them in your fireplace? The ERoEI would (finally) be greater than one.
