Two years ago, Joe Romm announced the official permanent drought for the southwest.
Dust Storm Marks Beginning of Southwest’s “Permanent Drought” | The Energy Collective
The southwest has been getting slammed with wave after wave of permanent drought, with another one coming at the end of the week.
I was planning on going up to the rim this weekend but have changed my plans and am going to hang out down in Tucson instead due to the wet, snowy weather here in Arizona. I was up there last weekend and there is still snow on the ground south of 260. Just breathtaking. Just beautiful. Arizona is a phenomenal, very special place. These alarmists live in an alternate universe.

Barcelona, Rain
But is Barcelona going to win next week?
James Lovelock (whom I greatly respect in spite of his hyperbolic hysteria in The Revenge of Gaia) says that drought in America’s corn belt is caused by deforestation in the Amazon.
I’ve read everything by James Lovelock, whether or not it agrees with my preconceived notions. That’s because I’m open to changing my opinions when new evidence comes in. Perhaps Joe Romm only reads the bits of James Lovelock that advance his preconceived notions and discards the rest.
Australia used to have permanent drought. 🙂
