NOAA states that Tennessee has gotten just one inch – cumulatively – of snowfall this winter. Today’s forecast (according to accuweather.com) is for 57 degrees in Nashville and 65 for Memphis. So if that one inch of snow hasn’t melted already, it will today.
Temperatures are running fifteen degrees below normal in Tennessee this month, but thanks for a completely pointless comment.
So basically you’re shifting the goalposts from the snowpack (as your original post was about) to temperatures. Gotcha.
Snow blanketing Tennessee in March is an indication of much below normal temperatures. I have little patience for devious behavior like yours. Are you denying that there is snow in Tennessee?
As per the link above – NOAA says that TN saw 0.3 inches in January and 0.7 in February. Weather.com says that temps in Nashville are going to be 54F today and 60F in Memphis. Accuweather.com predicts 57F for Nashville and 65F for Memphis. Weather Underground predicts 55F and 64F, respectively. Do you know the melting point of water? Do you state that the NOAA’s snowfall records are inaccurate? No, I don’t think Tennesse has more than a tiny bit of snow.

No one is discussing snow depths – there normally isn’t any snow in March. If you think that your behaving like a dirtball is convincing anyone of your point of view, you are mistaken.

I live in east Tennessee! I was stuck in the less than one inch of cumulative snow for about two hours in January, because of a freak storm the NWS did not advise us was coming in. Yes the temperatures are running below “Normal”.
When I stepped out of the car the snow was over 4 inches deep and it had only been snowing about 2 hours.
We have had snow off and on most of the winter. It usually melts within a day or so. We just finished a two day, non-stop snowfall. It was pretty light, but here in south Nashville we accumulated about an inch. Had our temperature been just a couple of degrees cooler this would have been half a foot.
I believe we are still listed as marginal drought. This fall we emptied our pool, but at this rate we should have it just about half full this spring. We have been getting precipitation at about double our normal rate since they proclaimed last year that we were in a drought.
Our forecast for the week is low 50’s, upper 40’s for highs, with rain yet again tomorrow. I am thinking of buying a canoe for my commute to work. So much for our horrific drought. No doubt we will go through a dry period this summer (we always do) and they will be yelling yet again that were are in a severe (dust bowl like) drought and that we are all going to die. Happens every year.
In East Tennessee we had snow for the last three days and dry today. However rain for the next two days. NWS is “Promising” 61 by Saturday, but that is down from the 68 they were promising yesterday, for Saturday.
NWS does a bad job of providing future scenarios even one day from now.
