  1. gator69 says:

Somebody needs to tell McFibben that the white stuff he sees falling is not pollen.

  2. darwin says:

People can only absorb so much doom and gloom at a time. Climate fanatics like Bill McKrackpot oversaturate the media with hysterical stories of eminent disaster. They’ve been doing this for 40 years now and more and more people are just ignoring them. Their pool of impressionable people shrinks as each day passes.

Climate nuts are kinda like the religious end times folks who predict the end of the world every year.

    • Old Goat says:

The disasters, he alleges, are probably more imminent, rather than eminent…

      • darwin says:

Thanks! I attribute mixing “imminent” and “eminent” to global warming. It’s a handy excuse for everything.

    • Eric Simpson says:

Exactly. These guys search keenly for anything bad. And then, whether it is pollen or hot or cold or drought or rain, they jump on that bad thing like an eager beaver, or like a flighty bird because they immediately do nothing but tweet about it. “Look!! I found something bad!” Tweet. Tweet.
They activist tweeters are like Climate Ambulance Chasers.
      Or weather ambulance chasers. Sad.

  3. Andy DC says:

Every idiot knows that before evil SUVs no one ever had an allergy or illness for 11,000 straight years.

  4. So, let’s see here:

Pollen is produced by flowering plants.

More pollen must mean more flowering plants.

More CO2 is causing more flowering plants.

    Isn’t nature wonderful?

  5. philjourdan says:

Ok, I will call BS on him there. This year has been VERY mild pollen wise in this area. I know it will not last, but so far, my wife has been very happy with the delay (usually we are up to our eyeballs in Pine pollen by now).

  6. kirkmyers says:

The LA Times should be ashamed of itself for giving eco-loon McKibben a forum to propagate his nonsensical “climate change” hysteria. The man makes Michael Mann seem rational by comparison.

  7. The news of global warming causing a longer allergy season was news back in 2008, as seen in this Dallas Morning News article here: http://web.archive.org/web/20081206072754/http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/fea/healthyliving2/stories/DN-nh_ragweed_1202gd.ART.State.Edition1.29d373a.html

It is among the 600+ other things caused by global warming seen in this list http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/warmlist.htm but due to the “allergy season longer” link going dead, the story must be now accessed via the internet archive web site.

Personally, I’m waiting for a study to declare global warming causes peoples’ toenails to become sharper.

  8. I. Lou Minotti says:

He’s about as knowledgeable and accurate as Punxsutawney Phil, and should also be subject to prosecution:

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/03/22/ohio-prosecutor-reportedly-seeking-death-penalty-for-punxsutawney-phil

    Wonder what models Phil uses?

  9. Jambon-X says:

The late John Daly summed up this approach as, “Have We Got a Disaster for You!”

Wherever you are, whatever you’re worried about, then that is what “global warming” is going to do to you:

    If you’re a farmer, “global warming” will cause drought;

    If you live in the midwest, “global warming” will terrorize you with tornadoes;

If you live on the Gulf or Atlantic coast, “global warming” will ruin your life with hurricanes

Depending on where you live and what you fear, “global warming” may cause too much snow, too little snow, too much rain, not enough rain, hotter weather, colder weather.

If you’re afraid of it, or can be made to fear it, “global warming” will cause it.

It says something about both the LA Times and McShitforbrains that they’re tormented by visions of the looming hay fever apocalypse.

  10. Pollen levels are up. It’s worse than we thought.

  11. tckev says:

I wonder what McTwit would have made of the weather of March 22, 1907 when the temperature soared to 90° at Washington, D.C.; the earliest 90 degree day on record. It was followed by 93° on the following day, the hottest March temperature ever at Washington, D.C ?

  12. gofer says:

Climate change causing plants to grow and expand rapidly. Bad news if pollen counts become low because that’s not good.
