No show on the west side but lowest temp since 1952.
Happy New Year! I’m getting thundersnow.
We had thunder-snow too, It’s a cooling regime kicking in.
It was a crisp -13°C outside Carbondale this am. I remember winter in Ft. Collins ’73-’74, cold would slide down the front range of the Rockies from the arctic. It seemed we had 2-3 weeks continuously, of barely getting into the single digits °F, and plunge to the -20s °F at night. Oil dipstick heaters or engine block heaters were a must to start cars if kept outdoors, it was before electronic ignition.
‘I’m dreaming of a White Easter
Like those our children will come to know
Where frozen windmills glisten
and the children listen
Of how the wheat fields used to grow.’
I’m dreaming of a white Easter!
But it’s all about how the data fiddlers show what temperatures actually are.
Looks like you don’t need that car,
just put chains on your bike tires !
I see a trend here, it’s -15°C today!
