Wow, breaking the previous record low temp by 6 degrees. These things just don’t happen by chance. They only result because the climate dice are loaded! If you don’t believe me, just ask Jimmy Hansen. Obviously, the next ice age is just around the corner! /sarc Hahahahaha.

  2. Nerd says:

They are gonna blame it on UHI…

    • last time I checked the upper Midwest was having record cold

Sent from my Virgin Mobile Android-Powered Device

      • David Appell says:

What a cold spot in a small percentage of the country make Bastardi right or wrong?

        People want to know….

      • David Appell says:

Wait — Bastardi’s prediction was about Arctic sea ice, not the upper Midwest!

He said, “….The ice is coming back,” Not long after it set a record low.

Can you at least admit that Bastardi’s prediction was completely wrong??

      • Bastardi already admitted that. Unlike any of your bullshit. 🙂

      • squid2112 says:

Small percentage? Down here in Tennessee we are running 20F below normal, and have been all month. We are expected to get snow tonight. Ya, SNOW! In Tennessee! On fricken March 22nd! .. are you kidding me? I left Fargo to get away from this shit…

What “record low”? You mean a record extending only as far back as the late 1970s, the beginning of satellite measurements? Based on news reports and observations from the 1920s, arctic ice sea extent was probably much lower than it is now. Of course, warmists like yourself aren’t interested in sea ice data beyond the 1970s. It flies in the face of the hare-brained CO2-is-warming-the-earth theory.

Fluctuations in sea ice are the product of natural climate variability. There’s not a shred of observational or empirical evidence to suggest that CO2 has any impact on arctic temperatures (or, for that matter, any temperatures).

By the way, an enormous arctic storm was largely to blame for the early break-up of arctic ice last summer. Human-induced CO2 has about as much impact on the earth’s climate as a fart in a hurricane.

Joe answered you and being the cad you are still cant accept his admission:

“Dave, the main aspect of my forecast is by 2030, NHem temp as measured by objective sat temps and the sea ice returns to where it was when we started the satellite era. As you have picked out me being wrong here, and of course this will be the kajillionth time I have admitted it, I realize that you and your 113 followers or whatever need to hear that I know I am wrong. Since you wish to bring it up again, yes I was wrong about that.

By the way, that forecast also calls FOR A REDUCTION of southern hemisphere sea ice a it should reverse its trend. If it doesnt, than we are in a heap of trouble the other way.

Since I forecast every day, and dont get paid unless I show my clients the value of being right, rather than blog from my basement or wherever it is you are, and since outside of 1 month between jobs I have forecasted every day for the past 10 years, starting working in the field the day after graduation on March 4,1978 and was at the same company for close to 33 years, I would say me being tested in the field far outweighs yours, the weather equal of the fan that eats hot dogs, sits in the stands, and thinks he can play on the field with people who actually know what its like to compete.”

You stopped after that and left.

Drop the bullshit David, you got caught once again.

Right now I’m puzzling over this discussion. Here is the point J. Bastardi made on 2012/06/16 about Arctic ice:

“For the record, and here you are Dave and the rest of the bunch, I think sea ice this year reaches its lowest levels a bit sooner than normal, and comparable to the lows measured in 2007. That being said, the peak this winter I have a little higher than last winter. I am using the Arctic ROOS site”

Wasn’t the low last year commensurate with 2007 levels? Isn’t it running “a little higher” than normal this year as we approach the peak?

So what’s to take issue with (point fingers at, jump up and down about)?

  3. Andy DC says:

David, By bringing up Bastardi, you are proving our point. Anyone who tries to make long range weather forecasts is ultimately going to make a fool of themselves. In fact lots of NOAA forecasters with their 21st Centrury supercomputer models made fools of themselves quite recently around here by shutting down the Government based on a 6 hour forecast of a non-existent snowstorm.

  4. David says:

Glbal Sea Ice, about plus 400,000 sq ‘, not a bad comeback.

  5. David Appell says:

Yesterday, March 21st, you made 33 posts on this blog.

It was a Thursday. Don’t you have a job?

If not, who is paying you to blog like this?
If so, does your company know you are blogging like this on their dime?

  6. David Appell says:

    Is your IP address
    68.247.33.235 ?

  7. David Appell says:

Anyone who blogs 33 times/day is either unemployed, or seriously cheating their employer.

    Which is your situation?

  8. David says:

David Appell, I take it you are unemployed.

    • He describes himself as “self employed”.

      • RealOldOne2 says:

“He describes himself as “self employed”.”
So does that mean he pays himself to make all these stupid comments on Steve’s blog? No wonder he makes so many insanely stupid & repetitive comments. He wants to make himself RICH!!!
Hmmm, I wonder if he’s reporting all this income to the IRS? Do they give a reward to whistle blowers? Hahahaha.

off-topic news tip from an alternate universe …

Revived Detroit Electric to unveil Tesla Roadster rival on April 3

Detroit Electric, a brand responsible for building electric cars in the early 1900s, has been revived after more than 70 years of inactivity – or as their marketing team would prefer: Recharged, Rebooted, Reborn. The company plans to unveil their first all-electric car in the modern era on April 3 in Detroit.

    […]

As such, it comes as little surprise at the new Detroit Electric sports car would resemble a Lotus. The car may retail for around $135,000, we’re told.

  10. David Appell says:

When people see that you’re afraid to blog using your real name — and I am happy to keep pointing this out — they realize you’re not serious. They see all the people who do use their real name and aren’t afraid, and wonder why you are; And that affects them… and drives many away. All you have lett are people like IBD, and who would ever take their advice?

    • darwin says:

You’re a nutcase. The only reason you want someone’s real name is so you can stalk and harrass them.

    • gator69 says:

David, please provide even one peer reviewed paper that refutes natural variability as the cause of recent, or any global climate changes. Surely someone who was provided a PhD knows that without disproving NV, it is impossible to blame anything else.

Your unhealthy obsessions with this fantasy, and Steven, are turning you into a raving lunatic. It is not helping your “cause”.

  11. Rob J says:

If I had an unstable loser like Mr. Apple lurking around stalking me I would not reveal my identity either. Appel is apparently just another in a long line of potentially violent left wing nutcases. This idiot gives me the creeps.

    • rw says:

      I can see why he’s self-employed.

    • gator69 says:

After dealing with a couple of severely unstable alarmists, I changed my posting name and disassociated the new name with any of my personal info. It is mainly for the sake of family (Brother at NASA, nephew named after me and also govt employee) that I took these precautions, but I don’t mind the added benefit of keeping the rotten appells away.

One nut told me that if Jesus were still here, He would strangle me. And then there was this cyber stalker of whom I was warned recently. Can’t be too careful when dealing with lunatics.

  12. rw says:

Are these almost frenzied comments an attempt to deflect attention from the present posting and its implications?

Why doesn’t David just retreat into la-la land like Bil McKibbins seems to be doing? Learn to tweet, David!

(Seriously, you should step back and consider how you’re behaving; this comment thread really is pretty weird.)
