Republican Sen. Mike Lee, of Utah, ripped the president for the remarks, suggesting he was exploiting the Newtown tragedy.
“The proposals the president is calling for Congress to pass would primarily serve to reduce the constitutionally protected rights of law-abiding citizens while having little or no effect on violent crime,” Lee said in a statement. “It is deeply unfortunate that he continues to use the tragedy at Newtown as a backdrop for pushing legislation that would have done nothing to prevent that horrible crime.”

“During a March 24 appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre explained that Chicago is big on gun control, small on enforcement of existing gun laws–and he asked why NBC News won’t cover this.
In fact, LaPierre told David Gregory that Syracuse University’s track data on enforcement of federal gun laws in 2012 shows that “out of 90 jurisdictions in the country, [Chicago] ranked 90th.”
This substantiates claims the NRA has been making for years. Namely, that the problem isn’t a lack of gun laws but a lack of enforcement of existing gun laws.
LaPierre then asked Gregory:
Why doesn’t NBC News start with, “Shocking news on Chicago. Of all the jurisdictions in the country Chicago is dead last on enforcement of federal gun laws?” Why doesn’t the national press corps, with they’re sitting there with Jay Carney and the President and the Vice President, why don’t they say, “Why is Chicago dead last in enforcement of gun laws against gangs with guns, felons with guns, [and] drug dealers with guns?”
To this, Gregory’s meager response was: “And you support those as felonies, being charged as felonies?”

The leftists want gun chaos. That is why we had Fast & Furious, and why the city with the strictest gun control laws refuses to enforce them. It is all part of their plan, and they just do not give a damn how many children they have to slaughter to make it happen.

Correlation is not causation but the parallels are accumulating to the point of deep concern. Maybe, just maybe, what our glorious leaders are doing and planning is not really in our best interests.
Question: If an enemy were in charge of our government and wanted to take down the US, what would he do that is different from what our current leaders have been and are doing. Answer: Nothing.
Basic principle: If a person espouses a principle and its consequences but repeatedly achieves the exact opposite without taking corrective action, his intent is to achieve those consequences.
Corollary: Look at what a person repeatedly does and achieves to find his real purpose. If they are different from his words, his words are intended to deceive and misdirect rather than to inform.
Now look at our glorious leaders’ words, deeds, and results. Draw your own conclusions.

But his supporters are delusional, and delusionally attached to their fantasy. They WILL NOT accept the truth, because the cognitive dissonance is too great.

Gun control, with the ultimate goal of banning most firearms is meant to protect the elite leftists. Once they feel safe they can proceed to finish “transforming America” without worry of an armed uprising. That’s the only reason the left wants control of guns.
Obama is a criminal psychopath. He is now busy creating and arming his own domestic police, the DHS, which will be deployed against the American people. The billion-plus rounds of ammunition, automatic weapons and armored personnel carriers the DHS and other agencies have purchased are intended for use here in the United States. Before Obama can declare martial law, suspend elections and appoint himself dictator, he must first disarm the American people. That effort is now underway in the U.S. Senate and through Obama’s latest unconstitutional executive orders aimed a creating a national database of gun owners, the prelude to gun confiscation.
If Congress doesn’t stand up to this tyrant, Americans will soon find themselves disarmed and living under the constant watch of an army of federalized jackboots, a heavily armed domestic police force similar to what the German people experienced under the SS and SA in the 1930s. The threat of “terrorism” is very real in this country, but it will be our own government doing the terrorizing.
I suspect the freaking out and suspending a kid for shaping a Pop Tart into a gun, suspending a kid for pretending to throw a grenade during recess, this is a 20, 30-year timescale long-game for turning the populace against guns… program the kids to be freaked by guns while we’ve got them in enforced, statist, teacher-union-controlled K-12 indoctrination, anyway. After gun freakout class we’ve got global warming class, followed by government-is-great class, lunch, then we’re going on a field trip to the penitence compound to laugh and poke fun at the climate change deniers, teabaggers, Christians, and all the other domestic terrorists incarcerated there. Sure glad we’re not one of them!
