Obama Wants Respect When He Lies

Obama met with Republicans yesterday, who laughed when he claimed that he had no control over White House tours. He got angry and said “hey, we were just talking about respecting each other.

Apparently Obama thinks that his lying to other people is respectful.

He thinks he controls the climate, but he can’t control what goes on in his own house.

  1. Andy DC says:

For whatever else you want to say about Obama, he has a lot bigger balls than people thought. Right or wrong, he is not afraid to fight or even pick a fight. Infinitely larger than Jimmy Carter’s.

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

Fighting for a lie is courage? Must be the Liberal definition.

      • Andy DC says:

I’m not saying the way Obama fights is clean or honorable. But at least he does fight. Don’t think you can say he is a wimp.

        • Scott mccall says:

Bush didn’t fight for what hr believed? He never waffled or flip flopped. Bush had conviction. He may have been wrong of right, but when he made a decision he stuck with it instead of caving. I’m no huge fan of bush, but I don’t see Obama’s fights as being part of any principled belief. Gay marriage? Boots on the ground? Obama caves in to pressure all the time. Nothing respectable about Obama he’s just trying to get away with crap most people don’t agree with and wtf is wro g with you?? Lol

      • leftinbrooklyn says:

Then it’s a fight based on desperation, not courage. The desperation to prevent your lies from being discovered, whether they’re simple ones about who decides White House tours, or big ones such as the very things which define you are a lie. The courageous recognize the dishonesty of their lies early on and correct them. They don’t defend them.

    • PhilJourdan says:

No Andy, you are confusing whining with fighting. Obama does not fight. He threatens, blackmails and whines.

  2. El Zombo says:

Carter was just plain wrong. Obama is wrong and a liar.

  3. SMS says:

Start out with a lie, lie some more, lie till people think you’re telling the truth. Sounds like a Democrat.

  4. David Appell says:

This confirms my suspicion that all climate deniers are cranky old white-man conservatives, and all COWMCs are climate deniers.

Expect your check in about a week.

    • Chewer says:

Are there historical examples that compare where we’re at today in reference to AGW.
Scientific Theory is embraced or challenged by both liberal & conservative minds throughout out growth in knowledge.
Today we have the liberal mind VS the conservative mind in a working hypothesis called AGW.
Is there a good answer why this is?

    • David Appell says:

Yes, there are historical analogues. Go study then, and come back when you actually know something.

      • Ivan says:

David – do you actually do anything useful?
I’ve spent a bit of time browsing through your “Publication List” and as far as I can tell, there is nothing in there that is the product of your own research or original effort. It would seem that all you do is regurgitate other people’s effort, add some graphic work, and then slap your name on it.
Then, as far as I can tell, you come over here and use what you have palgiarised from others to parade before this audience in a pathetic attempt to convince us that you are – what – a genius?
It must be awful to have such a low sense of self-worth. Does this stem from your problem of being over-weight, I wonder?

      • David Appell says:

Funny — I wrote a paper on quark gluon plasmas that got a huge number of citations.

But I don’t expect you to understand it. Or any of the other other ~300 publications of mine.

      • Ivan says:

Funny — I wrote a paper on quark gluon plasmas
Big deal. You weren’t just taking credit for the work done by your PhD adviser, I suppose?
Anything useful in the 25 years since then?

      • David Appell says:

        Jealous, Ivan?
As I said, I’ve seen this sort of reaction before.
I’m sorry YOU didn’t have what it takes to get a PhD. But then, not everyone does.

      • sunsettommy says:

Another question goes unanswered because you are too busy being so gosh darned smart!

      • Ivan says:

        Jealous, Ivan?
Appalled is the word that you’re looking for.
So far, there’s nothing that I have seen from you that would merit jealousy.
You seem to have an extremely inflated sense of your own self importance.
Yet you struggle with answering simple, straight-forward questions, or maintaining a coherent line of argument without resorting to insult and abuse.
In my line of work, I deal on a daily basis with people who exhibit the same symptoms of emotional impairment as yourself. Some of them are even above 5 years of age.
Why do you do this to yourself? Are you getting back at the world because they didn’t even spell your name correctly when they cited your opus magnus? That must have hurt.

      • David Appell says:

Ivan, if you WANT a PhD, go do the hard work to get one, OK?
It’s not the only path, just one path.
        But envy is always ugly.

    • David says:

DA is very good a confirmation bias.

    • David Appell says:

      Is name-calling all your have?

      • Wyguy says:

OMG, who started the name calling David? You argue like a wimp.

      • PhilJourdan says:

Apparently that is your entire forte’.

BTW: “Doing” something does not mean sitting around and whining about it. You were asked a question, and instead of actually providing an intelligent response, you merely penned ad hominems and empty claims.

    • sunsettommy says:

I am not a conservative and people like Obama who lie and lies and lies and lies, deserve ridicule and derision.

Why can’t you see his many lies?

    • Beale says:

You really know how to hurt a guy, don’t you, Mr. Appell?

Speaking strictly for myself, I plead guilty to the heinous crimes of being old, white, male, and conservative; I don’t think I’m cranky, but I’m probably not the best judge of that. So?

    • PhilJourdan says:

Are you going to write it? No one else seems to be paying the Skeptics.

  5. Justa Joe says:

Conversely all climate scammers are lily white libtards.

  6. B.C. says:

Looking at Mr. Appell’s self-scribbled description of his skreet kredz & credits, one finds the following:

” I’ve also done graduate work in the creative writing department at Arizona State University.”

This confirms my suspicion that he’s been collaborating with Mann, Jones, Briffa, Hansen, Gore, The Team et al all along! 😀

  7. B.C. says:

Wow. All of that big-time university learnin’, including creative writing graduate work, and that is the best that you could come up with? They just don’t make good trolls like they used to…

  8. sunsettommy says:

“Funny — I wrote a paper on quark gluon plasmas that got a huge number of citations.

But I don’t expect you to understand it. Or any of the other other ~300 publications of mine.”

Well that is nice David but hardly anyone has that kind of interest but YOU still feel the need to be an ass over it.

There are millions of people who does things YOU have no idea how it is done but you want to a snob and bore because you think quark guon plasmes make you the man we should listen to.

    You are a mess

  9. sunsettommy says:

    “They all lie.

    And?”

No not all do and not all the time but Barry Sotero seems to lie all the time now.

He lied over the White House visits, the cause of the increasing flow of oil and gas in America, the right to have a gun and on and on and on.He lies so often that he stands out and he is supposed to be the LEADER!

He is losing democratic support now because he is such a lousy leader.

  10. Ralph says:

Don’t feed the trolls! They’re like feeding an animal, they keep coming back for more.

    • Andy Oz says:

      Seagulls they are.
They make a lot of noise, eat all the food, crap everywhere and then bugger off. I agree Ralph, Don’t feed em is the best advice.

      • B.C. says:

‘Tis true about the trolls, Ralph and Andy. But, it’s not often, in these sad days of Troll Sequestration, that we get a chance to apply the Clue Bats to such a mindless Parrotroll*. Playing Whack-a-Troll used to be much more fun, back when the occasional troll could actually put up a semi-coherent argument.

*- A troll who has no original thoughts and simply regurgitates whatever bullshit his or her master decides is the approved orthodox mantra of the day.

Funny — I wrote a paper on quark gluon plasmas that got a huge number of citations.

But I don’t expect you to understand it. Or any of the other other ~300 publications of mine.

Web of Science picks up your quark gluon paper as having 57 citations, or ~2.5/year. I don’t know if I’d call that a “huge” number of citations.

Even picking up quite of few of your non-peer-reviewed works, Web of Science has your h-index at 3. It doesn’t find your Physical Review paper from 1986, so maybe I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it 4. In 25 years of service. If we stuck with just the peer-reviewed stuff, then would your h-index be 2?

You see, I don’t know if the people here are envious of your Ph.D…they might well be. But from looking at the comments on this thread, the first envy label I’d wager on would be your envy towards people out there doing research instead of journalism, given the way you try to portrait your work as shown in the above quote. I just can’t see any serious scientist taking your claim of 300 publications as legitimate, particularly for someone who tends to use the peer-review label to protect their position. Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

    • B.C. says:

In the real world (at least in the hinterlands), “PhD” stands for “Post-hole Diggers”— which is infinitely more useful than most of the academics who throw about those letters to give themselves an aura of authority. I tend to refer to the academic asshats, who’ve never done a minute’s worth of real work in the real world, as “EBTIC*, since they wouldn’t know which end of a mule to mine for Fool’s Gold if you gave them a flashlight, a map and a Sherpa… Mr. Appell fits the description as well as anyone I’ve ever come across on the ‘Nets.

      • gator69 says:

The PhD that my mother worked with was a failed attorney, who stole from donors and students, and was caught with a hooker in the basement of the museum of anthropology. A serial liar, a loser to the nth degree, and a thief.

      • Me says:

Funny, 😆 and you got to like his alkalinity explaination on another post. Bwaaaaaaahahaha!

  13. copernicus34 says:

appell waxing all poetic about his PhD credentials, yet he has time to make silly snarky comments on a blog. it doesn’t speak well of the worth of such high educational achievement if one wastes his time shouting inanities with faceless names on a blog. your placing you’re entire reputation sir, on one issue, and your shouting as if your an advocate. there are no scientists that are advocates, if there are, it does nothing except hurt the very cause you claim to embrace. do you see, sir, what you and the people like you are doing to the scientific craft? you are committing irreparable harm to future discovery by placing doubt on authenticity. good scientists carry on with their work, quietly undeterred by criticism. your generation of scientists couldn’t hold a candle in emotional maturity to the scientists who came before you. good scientists work to disprove what they believe, without remorse, without emotion. we now have astronomers who think they are climatologists, because of some insane belief system that makes them think “we are all scientists, so we are all climatologists”. you have no idea sir of the level of danger you are doing to your discipline. generation hence, they will look at you lot like a clown show, never to be repeated again. carry on with your vitriol.
