Last week, the Washington Post told us that the drought was only going to get worse.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

…and this week they’ll say it has. See? We were right!
“I see” said the blind man.
HA! .. drought my ass! .. we are swimming down here in Nashville. Played golf the past couple of days (finally warm enough to do so), and the fairways were like marshmallows. One course I played had two holes closed because of too much rain.
And, I will be willing to bet anyone here $1000 that the Red River in Fargo and Grandforks, North Dakota will flood this spring. Along with the Cheyenne river as well. Just take a flight over North Dakota in a light aircraft next month. It will look more like a lake than a desert. I guarantee it!
Did you know that the 10,000 lakes in North Western Minnesota are filling? They have been gaining water for more than 4 decades! Many of these lakes have all but lost their beaches. We used to go out to the Detroit Lakes area every 4th of July (Playboy’s #1 place to get laid), as my family has lake cottage’s, property, farms, etc… out there. They have lost their beaches as the water has risen several feet during the past few decades. A much faster rate than sea levels! Certainly, that area of the country is NOT seeing any drought.
Add to that Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. It is interesting to play with the interactive graph showing how much water this lake has gained in the past few decades. It is literally wiping out the area, almost doubling in size. Drought my ass!
Certainly, that area of the country is NOT seeing any drought.
You weren’t in Michigan last summer, were you?
You weren’t in Michigan during the 1930s, were you?
RE: Gina – “You weren’t in Michigan last summer, were you?”
Stop it with the drought crap. Even the USDA says it was the 8th highest yield ever for the NATION, with very high quality.
But surely the drought was bad in Michigan? The drought was so bad in Michigan, that only 317 MILLION bushels were produced, with a higher quality per bushel than any prior year. The 2nd highest Michigan yield EVER.

Played Golf!! geez….snowing like mad and still -15C here….fairways are a ways off yet…
WC reports that the drought index indicates that the drought is deepening.
Its raining right now in Albuquerque, at least in the foothills area and mountains- or more accurate would probably be sleet because its a bit chilly. The perpetual drought continues. The water “authority” for the county is paying people to attend drought classes this year.
