MoD admits campaign in Afghanistan is ‘an unwinnable war’ – UK Politics – UK – The Independent
The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and took ten years to figure out they had no business being there. The US and UK are now in year twelve.
Obama says Afghanistan is the “right war” and now has another “right war” in Iran.
All wars are bankers wars
What makes this even more pathetic, just go back and look at the criticism of the former Soviet Union when they were in Afghanistan. The US at the time was very critical of the Soviet’s for their war. We thought they were asinine stupid for waging an “unwinnable war”. I can recall politicians stating how nobody could ever win a war in that part of the world. So I ask those same people, WTF are we doing there now?
Pathetic…
Just amazing to me how people completely ignore history. Doing the same stupid shit over and over, expecting a different result. Isn’t there a term for this? … ah yeah, INSANE!
More insane was that Britain lost there three times before –
First Anglo-Afghan War (1839–1842) – about 16,000 solders and follower killed in action.
Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878–1881) 4 main battles in 4 years, at least 1,850 killed in action or of wounds, 8,000 dead through disease
Third Anglo-Afghan War (1919) began on 6 May 1919 and ended with an armistice on 8 August 1919. The British deployed air-power in this war and inflicted about 1,000 deaths on the Afghan enemy. The Afghani fighters had old weapons recovered from previous wars and inflicted at least 1,700 dead and wounded.
There are no unlockable doors
There are no unwinnable wars
There are no unrightable wrongs
Or unsingable songs
There are no unbeatable odds
There are no believable gods
There are no unnameable names
Shall I say it again…
War on drugs. How many decades?
The ‘War on Drugs’ is about knocking down the competition.
Winning the war was never the objective. If it was, the war would have been over a long time ago.
Obama says Afghanistan is the “right war” and now has another “right war” in Iran.
And Algeria, Mali, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Pakistan…
Obama makes Bush look like a freedom loving hippie peace freak.
