I told you, there’s a campaign going on. I mean it literally, you can tell by watching them. They’re going to use every and any natural event to prop up global warming. It’s the new meme. It’s no longer about temperatures (due to them not rising, which they can’t deny anymore) it’s all about the “weird weather” now.
Temps are not such a reliable climate indicator anyway. How about Precipitation? More rain, trees grow, but so does undergrowth, which is a major fuel contributor to forest fires. On the other hand, you can not have an ever increasing area of forest fires from year to year because once an area has a burn it’s going to be many years before it is primed to burn again. Fires wax and wane, more linked to precipitation cycles than to temperatures. Of course then there is the nonsense of building mansions inside a tinderbox!
I’ll have you know it’s built on the solid science of Svante Arrhenius, and his refining Tyndall’s idea of æthereal heat transfer with a backradiation warming mechanism, Arrhenius thus devised the “Greenhouse Effect”.
97% of climate scientist agree with that by their very acknowledgement of the “Greenhouse Effect” which says a lot about the intelligence displayed by these so called scientists.
The climate alarmists are a sad bunch. Their AGW theory is in free-call collapse, so they are forced to concoct silly stories blaming fires, floods, droughts, snowstorms, tornadoes and other weather-related events on rising CO2. It doesn’t matter that there is no scientific justification for making such claims. They have never cared about empirical evidence and observational data. Their entire AGW theory is an edifice of junk science.
The AGW/CC industry has lately lost its way a bit, and I almost feel sorry for it. So to give it a helping hand I humbly propose the new phrase for its future ventures as “Ethical Climate Sustainability”.
I feel it is an appealing all-rounder that can be used to efficiently cover the embarrassment of the last 15 years or so.
They could gain new ground if the AGW maroons tied climate change to racism.
The decline in acreage burned must come as a rude surprise to the Climate Movement alarmists who were hoping and expecting that the fires would get worse, after the Obama Administration gutted the U.S. Forest Service’s aerial firefighting capabilities. In the summer of 2011 the Obama Administration abruptly cancelled the contract for the U.S. Forest Service’s best firefighting aircraft, “the backbone of the aerial firefighting arsenal.”
Wait! Wasn’t 2011 a cold year, and 2010 and 2012 among the hottest years on record? So now we know that fires are caused by global cooling!
If they had any smarts they would realize that as CO2 rises fires will get smaller and harder to start. One of our best fire extinguishers is CO2. Do we have to teach them everything?
