Devise new sources of energy? It sounds like his teleprompter is still smoking choom. I wonder if Obama has ever actually spoken to an engineer?
Most of the water in the west is currently used to grow crops. Biofuels are an unmitigated disaster, as is Obama’s presidency.

This is another speech, using the bully pulpit, literally. Does he actually think that all he has to do is command it and we engineers can develop entirely new sources of energy? And growing fuels? That is just another way to harvest solar energy and cannot get better than the energy density of that. Can you say “celluostic ethanol” when trying to legislate scientific breakthrough? Geez, Steve, I agree with you about the choom smoking. His arrogance is beyond everyone’s imagination except his.
Oeman, there is an easy solution to this in Obama’s mind. He was trained by the “best”, and so when he opens his mouth to order New Sources of Energy, why then, you best believe if he doesn’t see the new physical theories for it just rocketing off the printing presses at breakneck speed and new machines to harness it springing up by the million in within a few months … why that can simply be labeled as “willful disobedience”, and treated accordingly!
Now don’t you feel so much more relieved, now that you really know that you or your colleagues really are going to do something about this engineering problem?

Shouldn’t he try to get another practical source of energy before he attacks coal and natural gas?
