This video shows Syrian rebels slaughtering three people in the countryside of Edlib, including the Metropolitan “François Murad”, who was patron of Sumaan al-Amoudi Monastery, under the charge of dealing with the government and the Syrian Army;the video shows people who speak Arabic with a broken accent, saying that through this act, they are applying the law of God.

In any religion, the converts are the worst of all. By their extreme acts, they want to demonstrate to all their new fellows that they are “more catholic than the Pope”. They act like real berserks, easily manipulated by the maniacs that strive at the edges of any religion – some of these being more inclined to use crazy people than others.
I doubt they were converts, as what they did was insane–and the modus operandi of Muslim jihadists to boot–and there is not another insane religion in the region which such maniacs could have been converted from. The article under the video only says they were “militants linked to the jihadi group Jabhat al-Nusra.”

I didn’t look at the video. I already saw a film of crazy islamists beheading someone in Afghanistan, and, frankly said, I don’t like looking at that kind of things. I thought that the people shown in the present video were converts because of the words “who speak Arabic with a broken accent” If they weren’t, I was the one who made a mistake, and I didn’t mean to offense anybody. Still, new converts to any religion, ideology, or any group of people united for whatsoever reason, often try to make themselves accepted by the rest of the group by showing themselves more rigorous than the others.
J-P, as a Catholic, I find your comment relating radical Islam to “more catholic (sic) than the Pope” offensive in the extreme.
Religion is supposed to be about tolerance. As Jesus said,'”if a man strikes your cheek, offer the other one”. So why be offended?

it’s a French expression : “être plus catholique que le Pape”. It means that obviously, one cannot be that, but that someone can show himself more extremist than others to gain prestige, or because he is according more importance to details than others generally do.
How many Baptist convert produced beheading videos have you seen? What a stupid ass comment. There is no comparison between Islam and any other contemporary religion, and I would not really call Islam a religion.
