Low gas prices in the US has made it very difficult for steaming coal producers to stay viable. Most of the big mining houses are getting out because they view low shale gas and CSG prices as a market condition unlikely to change soon. Since all the green energy companies got massive govt handouts, maybe some coal companies are thinking the same. The White House seems full of very crazy ideas though, like making energy unaffordable.
Big government soon will be the gatekeepers on all your energy needs.
