Hanson didn’t expect to see anything in 1989, but would see it a year later. That’s after his doom and gloom testimony in Gore’s Senate hearing in 1988. That boy really has it wired to be able to predict a year in advance. Well, he did control the data.

Why would Hansen deny greenhouse effects prior to 1990? Was their no CO2, no water vapor or any other ‘greenhouse’ gases before 1990? Or did they not receive marching orders from him until after 1989? Hansen is truly mentally disturbed.

It may be of interest that this paper:

Schneider S. & Rasool S., “Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Aerosols – Effects of Large Increases on Global Climate”, Science, vol.173, 9 July 1971, p.138-141

    Which contains the snippet:

It is found that even an increase by a factor of 8 in the amount of CO2, which is highly unlikely in the next several thousand years, will produce an increase in the surface temperature of less than 2 deg. K.

Appears to have been peer reviewed by James Hansen.
