Boss Of Iced-In Climate Scientist Says That Global Warming Will Bring Back Dinosaurs

A decline in ocean cloud cover projected in climate models points to more than 5.6°F (3°C) of global warming coming in this century, on the high end of past global warming estimates, warn climate scientists in a new study.

“This degree of warming would make large swaths of the tropics uninhabitable by humans and cause most forests at low and middle latitudes to change to something else,” says Steven Sherwood of Australia’s University of New South Wales, who led the study.

That would be the same tropics which has barely warmed over the last 34 years.

The changes, Sherwood says, would take Earth “back to the climate of the dinosaurs or worse, and in a geologically minuscule period of time—less than the lifetime of a single tree.”

Invest in fossilized mosquitoes trapped in amber!

Atmospheric scientists have long asked how high atmospheric temperatures will rise if greenhouse gases double. This “climate sensitivity” estimate has emerged as a key climate question, with estimates ranging from a low of about 2.7°F (1.5°C) to highs of more than 8°F (4.5°C) of warming in this century.

Climate: Cloud Mixing Means Extra Global Warming

My model predicts 1,000 degrees warming.    Here is the code.

dT = (year – 2000) * 10

    In a warmer world, would there be more cloud cover? More heat = more water vapor pulled from the oceans = more clouds.

    He didn’t lead a study but rather a computer simulation.

    Thanks, Steven, for your humor in this deadly serious matter.

    As usual, the human ego prevents humans from this serious business of accumulating reliable information on the forces that control Earth’s climate.

    Thus, the success of human efforts to understand the environment depends on our ability to escape the ego cage, individually, and work together for the mutual benefit of all mankind.

    That seems to be almost impossible, or at least a most formidable, task for homo sapiens

    Has the concept of “logarithmic” been dropped from the maths syllabus since I was at school?

      Sorry to have to tell you this this – Maths has been dropped.
      The name might still be used but I think it involves a Ouija board and the correct answer to anything is decided by a vote.
