If You Like Your Fraudulent Polar Science, You Can Keep Your Fraudulent Polar Science

Climate scientists lie about almost everything these days, in order to fraudulently obtain public funding. The have corrupted the “peer review” process to give themselves cover.

Stuck on a ship of (cold) fools

THE AUSTRALIAN JANUARY 02, 2014 12:00AM

The aim of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, led by Chris Turney of the University of NSW, was to prove the East Antarctic ice sheet is melting. Its website spoke alarmingly of “an increasing body of evidence” showing “melting and collapse from ocean warming”. Instead, rescue ships and a helicopter, all belching substantial carbon emissions, have had to be mobilised to pluck those aboard the icebreaker MV Akademik Schokalskiy from their plight, stuck in what appears to be, ironically, record amounts of ice for this time of year.

Professor Turney’s expedition was supposed to repeat scientific investigations made by Douglas Mawson a century ago and to compare then and now. Not unreasonably, it has been pointed out Mawson’s ship was never icebound. Sea ice has been steadily increasing, despite the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s gloomy forecasts. Had the expedition found the slightest evidence to confirm its expectation of melting ice caps and thin ice, a major new scare about the plight of the planet would have followed. As they are transferred to sanctuary aboard the icebreaker Aurora Australis, Professor Turney and his fellow evacuees must accept the embarrassing failure of their mission shows how uncertain the science of climate change really is. They cannot reasonably do otherwise.

Didn’t we have the kayakers’ doing the Northwest Passage to show the affect of global warming and the yachtsmen doing the same in the Arctic. Now we have “serious climate scientists” who didn’t know the ice was increasing out to show global warming in the Antarctic. These folks never seem to learn, nor do they ever seem to be particularly held accountable for their stupidity.

Yes, and with all the observations and measurements that are made these days, how could they not know what they were getting into? This may well be an extraordinary demonstration of fond beliefs trumping all observation (until of course the s*** hits the fan).

re: “nor do they ever seem to be particularly held accountable for their stupidity”
It would have been a good idea to let them ‘chill out’ for a week before rescuing them.

I’d like to know if that Green Party gal senator actually paid for the $15-$20K ticket. or was it comp’d in lieu of certain considerations later? The AGW racket stinks to high heaven.

  3. Anthony Bremner says:

As usual, follow the money. Maybe a deeper story here? It will be interesting to see who rescues the Chinese icebreaker. The Australis failed. So the Seattle one next?

The GuArdian takes a limp lettuce swipe at the Australian with “five basic facts” about the Antarctic.
“4. The ship did not get frozen in”. WTF??? I know the media exaggerates, but that’s just an barefaced lie.

Other alarmists are just plainly moronic parrots. I’m done. I can’t read anymore of their crap. At least the conservatives are taking a few swipes at the morons now; but they need to come out guns blazing, so to speak. Stop being polite to alarmists.

        Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals

…Some of these rules are ruthless, but they work. Here are the rules to be aware of:

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)…

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (his is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)….

The right, mostly composed of Christians, are expected to be polite. The Golden Rules, do unto others and all that. This is a weak point. If we go for the jugular we are ‘not playing by our own rule book’ Of course THEY decide what OUR rule book is and then hang us based on that.

This of course is a major problem for Roy Spencer. He published this Time to push back against the global warming Nazis and the warmist bullies were wild with glee.

At this point it is hard for us not to get very angry and come out blazing with both guns. This is exactly what they want. I learned long ago it is critical to keep your temper when dealing with bullies… In front of their buddies. One on one they are usually complete cowards. Of course as agnostic/atheist types, Hubby and I can go for the throat and when they try to hold us to ‘Christain Ethics’ we laugh at them.
