IPCC Says Climate Change Brings “Warmer winters and fewer cold spells”

Box 19-4. The Health Impacts of Climate Change

Warmer winters and fewer cold spells, because of climate change, will decrease cold-related mortality in many temperate countries.

IPCC – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Climate expert Barack Obama disputes this  claim, however.

Here at the White House, while we’re beginning to thaw from this week’s bone-chilling deep freeze, our discussions about the science of weather extremes are heating up.

We know that no single weather episode proves or disproves climate change. Climate refers to the patterns observed in the weather over time and space – in terms of averages, variations, and probabilities. But we also know that this week’s cold spell is of a type there’s reason to believe may become more frequent in a world that’s getting warmer, on average, because of greenhouse-gas pollution.

As far as the frequency, I will defer to the meteorologists who helped get the Global Warming Expedition to the Antarctic unstuck by use of (shock) their weather forecasts. Not some Malthusian who wants us all to die.

That statement must have taken every available brain in the WH to craft

Evidence of “Global Warming-Freezing” Climate Change decimating Native Americans in 1888 as thousands die:

    FREEZING TO DEATH.
    Over One Thousand Persons Perish

Chicago, January 22d— A Nebraska City special says : Judge Kinney, Agent at the Yankton Sioux Indian Reservation, arrived here yesterday. It took him five days to go thirty miles, the thermometer being 40 below zero most of the time.

The coal on the train ran low, when the passengers all crowded into one car. The men discarded their outer garments and wrapped the women and children up in them. Two babies perished. The Judge says the loss of life in Dakota is underestimated, as the newspapers have tried to cover it up. While at a station in Bonhomme county nine frozen bodies were brought into the depot in one day.

The loss in the whole country will reach 100, and estimates made in Yankton yesterday of the loss of life through the Territory figure up over 1,000 lives. The roads from the agency to Yankton were lined with dead cattle, many farmers losing all they had. Although “a large number of Indians were out burning during the storm, none are missing. The thermometer at Chicago registered 15° below zero last night. The Signal Service man, however, says all indications are for warmer weather, and that there are no more cold waves in sight at present.

Well, everybody is correct. Global warming is giving us warm winters with no snow and burning hot summers, we are going to fry. But climate change is causing it to get freezing cold. Cut CO2 down to nothing (except for China that needs growth) or we are doubly doomed: 8°F of temperature rise and fall by 2030 2018!!

The cold is causing Obozo to go full on nitwit on GLO-BULL warming … the stupid it burns!!

  6. Andy DC says:

REVISION: Global warming causes warmer winters and fewer cold spells, except when it causes colder winters and more cold spells.

It’s too bad these crazy bastard couldn’t see these facts back in the cold days (of past) 😉
