In 1990, the IPCC showed that most long-term tide gauges were rising at less than 1 mm/year.
Climate experts have since more than tripled the official rate of sea level rise, without any change in behavior of the tide gauges. This includes the completely bogus global isostatic adjustment.

They “believe” their climate models more than what the actual data is showing. If the actual data is showing no rise, there is no problem. No problem equals no funding.
Tide gages aren’t used to measure rate of sea level rise. They were not telling the correct ‘narrative’. Infinitely more malleable satellite measurements were used instead; enabling, through ‘adjustments’ the required ‘narrative’ to be told.
