  1. Okie says:

His article should be prima facia evidence he is insane. Institutionalize him at his expense.

  2. Bob Greene says:

Incredible. Incredible that he write such idiocy, gets paid to write it, expects people to believe it and that some will actually believe it.

  3. Tom Bakert says:

Read the article. It is nothing more than a recitation of talking points from the Catechism of Anthropogenic Global Warming (CAGW) interspersed with a few snarky insults directed at those of us who know enough science and math to be skeptical of this nonsense. He even claims (laughably) that Obama understands the science! This guy is a very liberal Obama sycophant with no scientific background at all. Check out his bio at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Robinson_%28journalist%29.

    • Jeff says:

Of course that’s all it is, that’s all they have. Guys this is the beginning of the end of this whole thing. All those who still are true believers are coming together for one last push. This is the climate science equivalent of Hitler’s offensive into the Ardennes Forest in December 1944. This is their last gambit. They all got their memos and emails. They’ve all received the script. Now it’s time for us to lay back and see what they got and then hit them back.

The public will never support destroying the coal industry and sending prices surging to combat “global warming.” The usual suspects of idiots might call it important. This might be their last stand. But truth and strength is on our side. This is the beginning of the end for the alarmists.

      • Gamecock says:

Unternehmen Nordwind was the last major Western offensive, not Wacht am Rhein.

History isn’t what it used to be.

      • philjourdan says:

Jeff, I wish I could believe you. But they are not like the Nazi offensive, but of the carnival game, Whack-a-mole.

        • Jeff says:

Phil, it’s not what the alarmists say. It’s what the people believe. These alarmists have already turned this into a hyper political thing. They won’t get anything unless liberals are in power. What happens when liberals aren’t in power? What happens when liberals never see power again? It’s time for the opposition to unite.

        • philjourdan says:

That I agree with. My 2012 was not a heartening event. It showed that most people are very low information. And it also showed why the Nigerian scams are still raking in billions of dollars.

  4. Owen says:

The Climate Liars disgust me. They are pure evil.

  5. Gamecock says:

“more catastrophic, than climate scientists had feared.”

Nothing could be more catastrophic (sic) than what climate scientists had feared.

Catastrophic. More catastrophic. Most catastrophic. I don’t think so.

  6. Sean says:

I love to see articles like this. When your freezing your butt off and some clown says this is caused by planetary warming, he may ease the doubts of a couple of people in the choir of his church feel better but fence sitters in the back pews realize it’s time to find a new church.

  7. philjourdan says:

“opinion writer”??? Guess some one has to feed the sheep their opinions, no matter how stupid.

  8. geologyjim says:

Eugene Robinson and Leonard Pitts are the designated lapdogs of the pundit-ocracy.

No one, not even many liberal papers, would carry their doggerel were it not for the Man in the Oval Office.

Both of them ceased being rational, let alone relevant, back in the Bubba days. They are to political analysis as political cartoonists are to deep-thinking. These clowns would equate bumper stickers with The Federalist Papers. Worthless.

And they wonder why newspaper sales continue to plummet.

    • Gamecock says:

“And they wonder why newspaper sales continue to plummet.”

They don’t wonder. Newspaper management blames everything from digital media to talk radio. They choose not to look at content, their real problem.

“Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” – Renaldous Magnus

  9. D. Self says:

The bombardment of this BS is out of control. The left is in panic mode. They will loose the house in the fall due to Obamacare and they need a new issue to rally around.

    • Jeff says:

Problem with Obama’s strategy is that they are giving OPPONENTS issues to rally around. One thing after another, Obama is playing to the liberal base of the Democratic Party. But these people are a minority. The rest of the country, who are not in this minority (aka the majority), are being given reason after reason to vote against these liberal idiots. Now what the GOP have to do is unite everyone against them.

    • HWR says:

Bingo. We have a winner. You are 100% correct. Global Warming is now a key part of the platform strategy. Progtards and Libtards will not go to the polls to “save Obamacare” but they will go to the polls to “save the planet.” That’s why the issue is being spun to them like it is.

    • Brian H says:

      lose

Don’t discount Obama’s Magic Vote Counting machine. He won some precincts with more votes than the adult population.

  10. Hugh K says:

“I know that most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives.”
    –Leo Tolstoy

  11. EW3 says:

Heard this somewhere a few weeks ago:

The Wall St Journal is written for the people that run the country.
The Wash Post is written for people that think they run the country.
The NYTs is written for people who think they should be running the country.

  12. The Iconoclast says:

Eh, I don’t think the warming-causes-coldness meme is selling all that well among the bone-chilled, winter-weary public. It’s somewhat amusing watching them try, though.

Warming-causes-coldness and deep-ocean-heating are both memes that would never have been investigated, let alone pushed, if there had still been surface temperature warming the last sixteen years. Popper’s description of the fall of a scientific theory is in full cry: They are now in the repeatedly-patching-it-due-to-problems phase. After that comes collapse.

    • Ernest Bush says:

They have been doing the same thing for the theory of evolution for over a hundred years. Attempts at proving it have included everything from outright fraud to evidence that didn’t really prove anything. It is still a theory and it is being shoved down peoples throats from the first grade on as a proven fact. What makes you think CAGW is going away anytime soon?

      • rw says:

Evolution is not a “theory”; it’s a complex fact, which is either right or wrong. Natural selection, on the other hand, is part of the theory of how evolution occurs.

        • philjourdan says:

Evolution is indeed a theory. A strong theory, but a theory none-the-less. No one has seen a chimpanzee turn into a human yet. Required for it to be a fact.

        • “Facts” are right or wrong? When did that become the case–or is that a tenent of climate change science? Evolution is a theory. Natural selection is part of that theory. Natural selection can be demonstrated to some extent. Evolution cannot in many cases.

        • Okie says:

I love how life spontaneously generates from non-life in evolution. And forget all about DNA; we’re just going to get more complex without a survivable purpose. Fact? Rather than a comical farce.

        • Brian H says:

phil, your chimpanzee comment is the purest expression of evolutionary stupidity I’ve ever come across. ‘Grats.

        • philjourdan says:

Actually, calling evolution a fact is the stupidest evolutionary comment made. Only morons would call something a fact when it is theory.

    • It didn’t require pain or anything else. Millions lined up and obediently said “Hot makes cold, cold makes hot”, “more is less, less is more” and so forth. The theory that force was necessary for double-think was completely false. It was voluntary.

  13. Anthony Bremner says:

The prestigious scientific journal Nature has joined us deniers and must be paid by the Koch brothers? Maybe this is the beginning of the end for the warmers? http://www.nature.com/news/climate-change-the-case-of-the-missing-heat-1.14525

    • rw says:

It looks to me like they’re still flagging the horse – or stoking the furnace.

At this point I’m still betting that the meltdown will be complete sometime between 2016 and 2020 (the meltdown of AGW, that is).

    • Eric Simpson says:

From the Nature article: Sixteen years into the mysterious ‘global-warming hiatus’, scientists are piecing together an explanation.

Like they haven’t already floated explanations up the wazoo. No, the deep ocean didn’t the eat. Or maybe they’ll say it’s coal this time, which is causing the world to warm, and cool, at the same time, lol. (Sounds like the stupid head Eugene Robinson.) You know, global hotcolding is even worse than just global warming!

Now they try again to “piece together” an explanation for the missing heat. Why don’t they quit with the convoluted epicycles and instead use Occam’s Razor: the simplest explanation is usually right. And the simplest and most obvious explanation is that their theory is bogus, that they got it completely wrong as evidenced by all their climate models being in complete belly flop mode. But the simplest explanation, which coincidentally fits the long term evidence on CO2, that won’t do. Instead they got to do some hocus pocus and smoke and mirrors so they can keep on that gravy train.

  14. Dave N says:

It has become clear (or perhaps it already was) that journalists no longer actually think about, or read, what they’re writing.

Sadly, if they repeat this contradiction often enough, many people will actually start to believe it. They’ll be firing up the furnace in the middle of summer in order to “cool” their houses; I kid you not.

  15. ralphcramdo says:

I always bake my water when I need ice cubes quick when friends drop by.

  16. Andy Oz says:

These journos are cheerleaders for those making the big money selling “credits”. What amazes me is the journos, scientists and other CAGW cheerleaders make wages while the mega bucks are made by the traders. Traders care not one whit whether CAGW is real or not. Their only aim is to syphon money from the new casino which is the carbon credit market. These guys drive Ferrari’s while David Appell, Hansen, Nutticelli et al are catching the bus. Traders are doing what they’ve always done. The real hypocrites are the scientists, politicians and other cheerleaders who have foisted the fraud on the average person jacking the power bills up 400%.

An example of a carbon credit trader:

John Holdren, of the White House says the cold weather in the U,S, is due to a WEAKER Jet Stream, (Link on the Washington Post Website)

This morning on BBC R4 “Today” programme Liz Bentley of the Royal Meteorological Society says the stong winds and rain in the UK is due to an unusually STRONG Jet Stream.

So is it weak over the U,S, and strong over the Atlantic?

    Well……Duh! Complete brainwashed IMBECILE!
