People make a living out of predicting stuff happening when they’ll be dead. It’s the new astrology.
“Embayment”??? What the hell is “embayment”? What’s wrong with calling the damn thing a “Bay”?
It sounds more sciency. ‘Bay’ might be understood by the people who shouldn’t be reading ‘sciency’ papers.
And where was James Hansen?
“Aiding Rasool’s research, the Post reported, was a “computer program developed by Dr. James Hansen,” who was, according to his resume, a Columbia University research associate at the time.
So what about those greenhouse gases that man pumps into the skies? Weren’t they worried about them causing a greenhouse effect that would heat the planet, as Hansen, Al Gore and a host of others so fervently believe today?
“They found no need to worry about the carbon dioxide fuel-burning puts in the atmosphere,” the Post said in the story, which was spotted last week by Washington resident John Lockwood, who was doing research at the Library of Congress and alerted the Washington Times to his finding.”

Around that time (1972) some guy called John Holdren helped a friend of his write a book entitled ‘Global Ecology: Readings Toward a Rational Strategy for Man.’ he authored the book’s sixth chapter, called “Overpopulation and the Potential for Ecocide.”.
The some pages he wrote are available at

and has his fascinating description of CO2 greenhouse effect and global warming.
Oh, he is known today as Dr. John Holdren, President Obama’s Science Advisor, and the book was co-authored with Paul Ehrlich.
Let me see,,
60 years onto 1971 = 2031.
He could quiet well be proven to be correct. 🙂
Guardian readers and commenters are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, being a higb proportion of Progressives.

May be right. But wouldn’t it be hilarious.
Except for the ice sheet terminating 20 miles from my house. That wouldn’t be hilarious at all.
I moved from the MA/NH border to NC.
Depends on which side of your house it actually terminates…
