Wolverines

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Red Dawn, a Patrick Swayze movie where communists invade Colorado and use the gun registry to try to round up the guns and resistance. Similar to what Bloomberg tried to do last year in Colorado.

You might ask why the guy on the right is pointing his AK-47 at his buddy with his finger in the trigger guard? I certainly wonder that.

The movie was actually filmed in New Mexico, just east of where I used to work as a ranger in the Pecos Wilderness. The scene above was filmed at Ghost Ranch, about 50 miles away – near Georgia O’Keefe’s house.

All of her paintings looked like she had the same general idea on her mind. New Mexico can be a weird place.

“I hate flowers — I paint them because they’re cheaper than models and they don’t move!”

Ha, the 80’s. Back when a story line about the Russians invading a country was a believable plot.

And why is the guy sat just behind Patrick Swayze negligently pointing his rifle at the girl to the right?

  4. Gamecock says:

Actors who haven’t been taught safe gun handling. American Nitpickers we are.

I zip-lined the Pecos near Las Vegas, NM, 25 years ago. Interesting country, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

NikfromNYC, I think you better take a closer look at the flowers.
Those are the type of flowers that many men would like to deflower!–with a few liberties taken.

The symmetry, the plenitude if gentle curves, no ‘hard’ corners … I also have to agree with darrylb’s observations, as that was my second thought also …
