I used to read comic books called Asterix (they were in French). The villagers who lived in Roman times were scared of the sky falling on their heads. I used to laugh every time it was mentioned. The alarmists remind me of these antics. Unfortunately, their antiquated notions (every generation since the beginning of time has had a group of crazies prediction catastrophic climate) are just silly.

I recall driving from Castle Rock to Denver (north on I-25) back in the early 1970’s (when global cooling was in vogue) when a tremendous summer thunderstorm laid it out for us. I was in my 1966 MGB, and within a couple of minutes, as the previously 90 degree summer afternoon was transformed into a white winter looking wonderland – my car ground to a stop in the middle of the interstate as it bottomed out on the 15-18 inch deep hail.

I am going to have to replace my roof (house) because of the hail damage done this year. It is rather interesting that Wunderground does not show that hail storm so there is no ‘proof’ to show insurance companies.
I’m really starting to doubt that Wunderground is connected to anything that actually monitors weather conditions. According to them my pastures are not flooded ’cause we’ve only had “trace” rainfall instead of the 1/2″ to 1″ daily. The only good thing about that site is their multi level radar and sat map. Radar plus aerial and road maps make it easier to figure out how long I have to get to the feed store and back without getting rained on.
I only use them because of their radar maps and for the same reason. We can figure out how long before we get rained on. As far as forecasts or history goes they are liars working to promote CAGW.
Can you insure against hail in the US. It happens so often, much more frequent than in europe.
Yes. Our only hail claim was for damaged (dents) metal siding on a house in Iowa. I think that storm was in 1973.

In the Former UK, they’ve had the “driest” September since, er, “records began” (1910 – ish), and it’s been mild, too. They are calling it “Extreme weather”. I can’t wait to see what happens when it next rains.
