   I just saw a picture of a hotel garage full of Federal Police Force vehicles all shiny and brand new. The hotel is near Ferguson Missouri. I did not know that the US had a Federal Police Force with DHS support.

     A federal police force is technically prohibited by the U.S. constitution, but instead we have what’s called federal law enforcement agencies. The reason for this is that the nation’s founders thought that the best way to maintain a democratic government was to leave law enforcement decentralized and in the hands of the individual states. That said, there is a need to have federally operated agencies to enforce various types of laws, so the distinction between federal police force and federal police agency is one primarily of semantics….

     Patriot Act Renewal Includes Creation of a Federal Police Force…. Actually it just lets the already established Federal police go national.

     “A permanent police force, to be known as the ‘United States Secret Service Uniformed Division,'” empowered to “make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence” … “or for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony.”

   Even Fox has no clue about climate change based on the Fox News Sunday interview with Thune and Whitehouse. R’s are always forced to explain the 97% consensus that does not exist. Guys like Whitehouse sit there and talk about fish people have never seen. It’s ridiculous.
