OGDEN — The greatest snow on earth could be in danger, according to an environmental advocate and writer who spoke to students at Weber State University Tuesday about the effects climate change will have on snow and the ski industry. By the end of the century, some scientists predict Utah will no longer be a skiing destination, because global warming will prevent snow from falling and in turn will affect the ski industry.

Over the past 35 years, snowfall in Utah has been above the 100 year mean, and is right at the 100 year mean now. 2010 was the third snowiest year on record in Utah, and 2008 was the fifth snowiest.

Snow for northern New England this weekend. But that’s not unusual for this time of year.
The good news for the ski industry is that the people of this country just rejected the left-wing progressives who also comprise most of the global warming industry. Lower energy costs due to the abundance of domestic fossil fuel resources will make it easier for skiers to actually travel to the slopes.
BTW look for the “denier” term to be whipped up by these people as the new Congress begins defunding them and their useless research.

He says that human activities like driving and flying are causing global warming and if global warming continues Utah won’t have any snow for people to ski on.
In order for people to ski they have to drive or fly to the resorts. But if there is no snow there is no reason to drive or fly to the resorts.
Is he then advocating for no snow so the human activity of skiing will stop, thus lowering of CO2.

Must be a stealth “locals-only” propagandist. Daily lift tickets at Park City Mountain Resort are already north of $100, I can only imagine what it would be once the Alarmists have added their “Enviro-tax” for all non-locals.
I expect to see in fine print “this study sponsored by the Utah Ski Resortt Association, who invite you to book your family trip to Utah this winter before we have to close….”

I drove all the way up Interstate 15 in Utah during the first week of July, 2012. I did not expect to find snow still on the mountains east of the highway most of the way up to Salt Lake City from Cedar City, but it was there.
Then when they have record snow, it’ll be blamed on “global warming”
They may be right for the wrong reason. That snow record shows that during the 1945-1977 negative phase of the PDO there was less snow. So we are now into the negative phase of the PDO with less precipitation (stronger la Ninas and weaker el Ninos) and we may see a repeat of that.
The huge problem for them is that it will happen with global temperatures falling in the natural cycle. Ops I used the words “natural cycle” I’m sure to be labeled a heretic now.
