It is very possible that children will not know what snow is — at least if they attend government schools. They also won’t know what multiplication is, or who fought in the Civil War, or whether Plato and Aristotle are anime action figures.

The word “Buffalo” is notorious in the USA. As a newly minted Chemist the placement agent asked me, “Where besides Buffalo do you refuse to be relocated to?”
Not only does Buffalo New York have some of the worse weather in the USA (cold plus lake effect snow) it also has Hooker Chemical (always looking for new chemists) and Love Canal.

Global Warming up the Yin-Yang.
Global warming science has a yin-yang quality to it. For every prediction of warm, there’s an alt.universe counter-prediction of cold. Snow/no-snow. Drought/floods. Both ends are covered. When the weather falls somewhere in the middle, it is evidence of the yin-yang duking it out for global climate supremacy. It’s all science, and if you disagree with this post, you are a Denier.
The above science-friendly post qualifies me to teach America’s children.
Alarmist MO: Make a claim about what will happen to the climate. When the opposite happens, make a claim that it’s “consistent with AGW”, or that it was “expected, and will continue”.
They don’t credit the public at large with much intelligence. Double irony: alarmists are not intelligent enough to see the irony in that.
