Experts say that a terrifying storm melted the North Pole yesterday
This unprecedented melting event has caused Arctic ice to reach its highest December extent in over a decade.
One buoy 300 km from the pole reported temperatures just above freezing for an hour yesterday. Another buoy a mile away did not report any above freezing temperatures.
Climate science is about propaganda, and never telling the truth about anything.
Since when did air temperatures make any difference to ice extent?
“So in summary, the forecast warming was qualitatively pretty good even though temperatures at the Pole didn’t reach up to the freezing point. In fairness the forecast front was very sharp so if it didn’t get quite as far north, that would explain temperatures at the Pole being significantly cooler than forecast.”

Actually the polar temperature spike is quite interesting: as soon as I heard of it I looked up the jet stream map. Here it is from the 30th.
Will you look at that! The jet stream is funneling subtropical air all the way right over the UK and up to and past the North Pole, then it does a full 180 and goes all the way back down to Greece. Wow.
Nothing in the warmies’ canon explains that sort of Rossby behaviour, but low solar activity does.
WUWT has it as North Pole, Ak., not the pole.

So we know which one the polar bear was breathing on.
