      He’s a meteorologist in Minnesota and writes the daily forecast for the Star Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis. His blog is at startribune.com/pauldouglas. The highest December temperature in Minneapolis was 68 degrees on December 1, 1998, another El Nino year. 1998 produced the record high of 55 degrees on December 14, also.

    A mild spell in early December is hardly a threat to the human race. Enjoy at while it lasts!

  11. markstoval says:

    Many people who think that there is dangerous man-made global warming and that we need to do something about it are just people who think that the “scientists” are honest and good and all agree we are in danger.

    Other people know better but want to see the governments of the world control mankind down to the smallest detail of their daily lives. These collectivists have always existed, and once upon a time they ruled the old USSR and demonstrated that collectivism and egalitarianism are deadly to the populous.

    We are not fighting a war of facts and logic in a scientific debate — the leaders of the other side know we are right. They want to rule and the lust for power guides them, not the scientific method.

    The COP21 meeting is very dangerous. The cAGW scam is wounded and when any animal or group is wounded the last ditch efforts can be very dangerous. I wager that something will come of Paris that will harm US citizens even more than what has already happened. We should not be complacent.

    PS: thanks to Steve for hosting this wonderful blog. Many alarmists and lukewarmers attack him which shows he is on the right track. Keep up the good work.

    Misinformed and striving very hard to stay that way. Seems to describe many in the areas of liberal LaLa land.

    I was waiting for the punch line:

    “Your sources of information are demonstrably correct.”

  15. John B() says:

    My mother, born 1919, grew up 60 miles east of Paul Douglas’ home base. She remembered a school year that was so mild they jumped rope nearly every day that winter.

  16. chilemike says:

    I always suspected this guy was in the Warmista camp. Used to watch him drone on about climate change on one of the Minneapolis TV stations. Interestingly enough, his little company made the graphics for the approaching storm in the first Jurassic Park. Too bad he tries to pass of El Nino/unseasonable weather as Global Warming. Hide from the Evil Koch Brothers and Exxon, Paul! They’s out to git us all!

  17. richard says:

    PAUL!!! Go find that little thingey on the wall, it’s called a THERMOSTAT. Turn it down to
    78 degrees F. That will fix your problem. You have it set too high!
