The Democrats are losing big time with this issue.
Bill Clinton came right out and said that the difference in party platforms on gun control made the difference in the 2000 presidential election between Gore and Bush. But that sure isn’t a lesson his wife or for that matter the DNC have learned.
And yes, the NRA/ILA represents the first line of defense of our 2nd amendment rights which is after all our FIRST freedom because an armed citizenry retains the ability to fight effectively to protect all other rights. I like to think what would happen if all those people out there that have managed to scrape up the money to be buying firearms and bringing sales to record numbers would also ante up for NRA dues.
Its now 2016 and the commies have trained a new generation of useful idiots since then. For them, its woth another try. Because once they have the guns they can do what they want.
Yep. But at the same time it serves as a side issue. A distraction for their proletariat and welfare classes. They are led like porkers with rings in their noses by the leftist press mouth pieces to talk about guns in order to avoid dealing with the real issues behind the violence.
But as for taking them or really trying to even though they want them? Ain’t gonna happen this time and they know it. They know that Obama has been the best firearms salesman the US has ever seen as sales have sky rocketed though out his “administration” and even did so even back when certain popular calibers of handgun ammo were in very short supply.
Excellent. Too many in our country have no idea what freedom even means or how to protect it.
I joined today for the first time ever. Never saw much need for the NRA since it was easy enough to walk down to K-mart and buy a gun when I was a kid 40 years ago… My how times have changed. I never thought I would need an advocate to protect myself from idiots like now. I’m not talking about other gun owners, legal or not, I’m talking about lawmakers.
Awesome!
Great decision Mike. Do they still offer a free one your subscription to one of their publications? If so, which did you pick?
It’s too bad that she’s not an NRA member. And she doesn’t hunt, which is her personal choice. But at least she owns a firearm for the best of reasons–to protect herself from government imposed tyranny:

Yep… I’ll get a nice little duffel bag too, which despite all my other little duffel bags will probably come in handy on my next overlanding trip, and a choice of three magazines. I chose the freedom oriented one, not having read any of them. Will probably do concealed carry soon too, just as one more merit badge. I hear you learn a lot about safety and the training is well worth it.
So you chose ‘Americas First Freedom’

All of them, American Rifleman, American Hunter, Shooting Illustrated, American Hunter, etc are good.
Been a member most of my life. I’m also a member of my state’s gun owner association, which marches on our state capitol in the thousands every year, but oddly that march somehow never makes the news.
I have never owned a gun in my life and have only shot a few times. I am now going to purchase one, learn how to use it properly and join the NRA
I read this article “A Nation of Cowards” back in 1993. I found its ethical argument of personal responsibility for self defence to be absolutely convincing.
