I took this picture of Colorado’s largest glacier this morning. You can see the 200 foot thick dark wall of ice at the front of the glacier
This is what it looked like in 1940, photographed from much closer and an angle more to the left. It isn’t obvious that there has been any significant change in the size of the glacier since 1940.

This is what it looked like in 1898, when it was considerably larger.
The glacier was melting rapidly in 1910, during NASA’s coldest year on record. But now that we are in NASA’s hottest year on record, the glacier isn’t melting any more.
