Scam Over In 26 Hours

In yesterday’s EPA confirmation hearing, Bernie Sanders started out lying about climate, and then escalated his lies further and further :

97 percent of scientists who have written articles for peer reviewed journals have concluded that climate change is real, it is caused by human activity, and it is already causing devastating problems in our country and around the world.

97 percent of the scientists who wrote articles in peer reviewed journals believe that human activity is the fundamental reason we are seeing climate change.

(the) overwhelming majority of scientists say we have got to act boldly

Bernie’s EPA Lies

None of Bernie’s claims had any basis in fact, which is par for the course for progressives. With only 26 hours left to their scam, people whose living depends on the climate scam are massively ramping up the lies.

How 2016 Became Earth’s Hottest Year on Record – The New York Times

Global warming is indeed man-made.  By fraudsters at NOAA and NASA who keep changing their data to make the past cooler and the present warmer. Based on the NASA temperature data from the year 2000 and satellite data since then, there has been no more than 0.6C warming since the middle of the 18th century. NASA shows more than twice that much warming now, due to their abuse of data.

I asked this Bernie voter why Making America Great Again is f*cked up. He said “Trump doesn’t believe in climate change

It’s going to take a lot longer, especially since a multi-billion dollar industry depends on it.

  2. RAH says:

I can’t help thinking that the kind of people that thought that way 30-40 years ago would have satisfied their need for fake fears and anxieties by watching soap operas.

  3. gator69 says:

The way Senator Markey was played by Pruitt in the hearings was brilliant! Markey asked Pruitt if he believes that climate change is a hoax, and Pruitt replied, “I do not believe climate change is a hoax”. Markey was so pleased with himself and this immaterial answer that he had no further questions.

These leftists are insanely ignorant, and I can’t wait for the grown ups to take control tomorrow.

  4. BobW in NC says:

One possible gray cloud…at least questionable.

In yesterday’s confirmation hearing, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) asked EPA nominee Scott Pruitt, “Do you agree that global warming is a hoax?” to which Pruitt responded, “I do not.” Apparently, Pruitt had previously done exactly that – called it a hoax.

Hopefully, he will approach the EPA’s tenure that in fact AGW is unquestionably a hoax!

  5. DeplorableBritInMontreal says:

Never thought it was hoax – it’s a bandwagon, which is much more insidious.

    • Andy DC says:

It is not a hoax, as there has been a little bit of warming. But it is far from being a looming catastrophe.

      • CheshireRed says:

        @ Andy DC. ^^^ This.
Egregious exaggeration is the green blobs stock in trade. They’ve taken next to nothing and transformed it into imminent catastrophe. To that extent, they’re lying, and they know they are.

Mr Trump, please start draining the climate swamp.

        • bailcon says:

Andy DC, do you attribute the “little bit of warming” to CO2?

          • ЯΞ√ΩLUT↑☼N says:

The “little bit” of warming from CO2 began billions of years ago. The saturation point has been reached long ago and more CO2 will make no difference.

      • AndyG55 says:

The little bit of warming has come ONLY from El Nino events.

They are NOTHING TO DO WITH CO2

There is absolutely no CO2 warming signal in either of the satellite temperature data.

  6. John F. Hultquist says:

    Bernie Sanders and the 97%
Rank all the Senators in order of smarts and this man will be below 97%. The Ed and Jeff, below, may be with him there at the bottom, although there are many I don’t know much about. So, this is a guess, or in today’s use of acronyms – a WAG.
    Ed Markey MA
    Jeff Merkley OR

Above comments: Seems there is some confusion about the spelling.

As Bill Clinton might ask: “What is the definition of hoax?”

Wikipedia says: “A hoax is a deliberately fabricated falsehood made to masquerade as the truth.[1] It is distinguishable from errors in observation or judgment,[1] rumors, urban legends, pseudosciences and April Fools’ Day events that are passed along in good faith by believers or as jokes.[2]

In that light, I can think that it is not a hoax.

    • Gail Combs says:

Money making FRAUD not a hoax

World Bank Carbon Finance Report for 2007
The carbon economy is the fastest growing industry globally with US$84 billion of carbon trading conducted in 2007, doubling to $116 billion in 2008, and expected to reach over $200 billion by 2012 and over $2,000 billion by 2020

CAGW is a fraud that produces nothing but poverty. It does not produce a single penny of wealth and instead acts as a short circuit across the advancement and wealth of an entire civilization.

      • Eric Simpson says:

I like ‘fraud.’ Fraud is good.

      • John F. Hultquist says:

Some of the fraudsters have been quite innovative. Example, the folks in Spain using diesel generators to shine lights at night on solar panels.
Where there is lots of money, there will be innovators.
I hope someone does a summary.

        • CheshireRed says:

The Northern Irish have been pulling a similar stunt, heating farmyard barns with ‘green’ energy and being paid a rebate of 160% of their heating bills! One farmer was expecting to become a millionaire on the back of it.

The woman responsible for the nonsense has refused point-blank to take responsibility and resign which has now brought the government down. Now an election looms. A monumental clusterfuck.

    • Robertv says:

It’s a crime against humanity. We need a new nuremberg trial.

  7. Andy DC says:

Trump obviously won’t pursue the climate change agenda as aggressively as Obama has, but my question is whether he will have the balls to roll back the regulations that are now in place and whether he will have the nerve to lop off heads at places like NOAA and NASA.

Whether his people will have the nerve to expose and revise all of this “hottest year ever” misinformation (plus LOTS of other misinformation about Greenland, sea level rise, polar bears, etc.), also deconstruct all of the phony “hockey stick” charts now in place.

Whether his people will expose the fraud regarding siting and calibration of thermometers at NWS stations, also revise or eliminate the fraudulent data sets that are coming from those stations.

Whether his people will inform the public about all the beneficial things going on with the climate that no one wants to talk about, like fewer hurricanes, fewer tornadoes, repeated record crops, fewer wildfires, less drought, fewer 100 degree days, great skiing, etc, etc. That the environmental extremists are trying to fix something that is not broken at the cost of $trillions, loss of freedom, and a much lower standard of living.

    • neal s says:

Would make good talking points for an upcoming Trump speech. Perhaps tomorrow would be too soon for that, but I would not be disappointed to hear that.

      • Steven Fraser says:

Perhaps t,he State of the Union…

      • Gail Combs says:

Trump’s first concern is to get the economy jump started. He has put out a list of the items he wants done in the first hundred days.

Do not expect to actually hear much about what else is happening. Trump will probably wave the border wall at the MSM to keep their attention away from what he is actually up to.

There is a whole heck of a lot that can be done WITHOUT Congress. First rescind all of Obummers E.Os and a heck of a lot of others.

For example it was an EXECUTIVE ORDER that allowed federal employees to unionize. That can be revoked.

Executive Order 10988 is a United States presidential executive order issued by President John F. Kennedy on January 17, 1962 that recognized the right of federal employees to collective bargaining. — WIKI

Trump is VERY good at firing people so expect a major cleaning out of the various departments. Federal employees have been a protected species for the last 50 years and they have gotten VERY sloppy. AKA porn on gov’t computers… I think you will see deadbeat employees leaving in droves to avoid getting fired and possibly losing their pensions and other bennies. The optics of The Apprentice will be stuck in their brains and a few high profile firings with jail attached will go a long way to help them along. I am sure Jeff Sessions already has a few scarificial goats picked out.

It is CONGRESS that writes laws and it is the Admin. under the president that IMPLEMENTS them. ALL of the federal bureaucracy is part of the administrative branch. Trump can give order that his Admin ‘rewrite’ and simplify (aka as in repeal) ALL the regs now in the federal register.

That will keep a ton of bureaucrats busy for the next four years.

        • neal s says:

We haven’t heard about any homeless people, but that will change come noon Friday. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lies about record low un-employment, would shortly after the change of POTUS be modified. And when many federal employees start losing their jobs, some will claim that they are part of the reason for the rapidly escalating joblessness claims.

I fully expect the press and media to continue to lie for all they are worth, about everything that Trump does or does not do. This will slowly end as one by one they go out of business. I am hoping that at least one network will actually make changes and start doing what they were supposed to be doing all along, but I am fully prepared to be disappointed.

I realize that Trump can’t use a river the way Hercules did to clean things up in only a day and I don’t have any expectation that he can fix everything that BHO messed up. But after Trump takes office, I will be more hopeful about the future of this country than I have been in a long long time.

          • Gail Combs says:

My feelings too. I thought I was watching my country slowly bleed to death at the hands of our traitorous leaders.

Is this the first time in history where the leaders of a country deliberatelly colluded together to destroy their own nation?

          • Latitude says:

…and of course, I agree with both of you

I can’t watch it any more, and don’t. I’m even weaning myself off of internet news.

          • Colorado Wellington says:

“We haven’t heard about any homeless people …”

It has already started. 9News reports that Denver is buying one-way Greyhound tickets out of town for its street people, e.g. $222 to San Diego. The residents of the Democrat-run city have been assured that if these travelers return to Denver, they will not get another ticket.

        • GW says:

Or perhaps several replies were updated simultaneously, and mine was further down the list.

          • Gail Combs says:

Your best bet is to use a name and a phrase or a time stamp to indicate who you are addressing.
Other wise it can get rather confusing.

      And DC

Trump on Energy: Donald Trump Energy Policy Speech at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference, Montana

Trump called CAGW bullsh!t. He KNOWS what the connection between energy and economy is and he will fight for plentiful and cheap energy. He has also said he is not paying the UN. That is why Obummer just shipped off $$$ to the UN (It also buys Obummer a ‘place’ in the UN)

  8. Eric Simpson says:

As I said at WUWT regard their Arctic interpolations that were required to make this year .01° hotter than last:

At first look the Arctic interpolations looks like pure bs. As do ALL their other data manipulations that in almost every case conveniently cools the past and warms the present. Worst for them is that in a private email the Chicken Littles were exposed as willfully desiring to manipulate the temperature record to further their leftist cause:

ClimateGate email: Warmist Tom Wigley proposes fudging temperature data:

2009: “If you look at the attached plot you will see that the land also shows the 1940s blip… So, if we could reduce the ocean blip by, say, 0.15 degC, then this would be significant for the global mean … [Tom Wigley, to Phil Jones and Ben Santer]

Lo and behold, after that email … THE “BLIP” WAS REMOVED!

These ideologically driven doomsayers are guilty as sin. It was warmer in the 1930s. There’s no global warming.

Their temperature record is pure garbage. So is their endless fear-mongering. Over and over again the top alarmists have been caught telling their acolytes that they all should offer pure lies in shameless fear-mongering:

“We have to offer up scary scenarios… each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective and being honest.” -Stephen Schneider, lead IPCC author, 1989

Their data is lies. Their scare-mongering about the future is lies.

Yeah, what a coincidence that the last couple of ‘hottest ever’ years have beaten each of the previous years by a huge margin of 0.01 or 0.02C. Easy as pie to fudge such an irrelevant amount but crucially it delivered the required screaming MSM headlines, and that was all that mattered. Gotta keep the people terrified of the big bad monster.

here’s the ACTUAL numbers on papers:
99.7% of 11,944 climate science papers did NOT say CO2 caused most global warming since 1950. Only 0.3% did. [Legates et al. (2013)]
The basis for the consensus claim is this: In a landmark survey of 10,257 Earth Scientists, 96.2% (76 scientists), out of 2.5% (79 scientists) selected from the 30.7% (3146 scientists) who responded, agreed that it’s “generally” warmer now than it was in the 1700s at the depths of the Little Ice Age. [in other words a non sequitur and unrelated to ‘proof’ of AGW]
31,487 American scientists have signed a petition that clearly states that mankind’s contribution to changing climate is not proven, including 9,029 with PhDs.
