Two days ago, the fake news Washington Post ran this story as part of their attempt to delegitimize President Trump.
The idiot governor of Vermont jumped right in too.
Like with essentially all Washington Post stories, it was nothing but fake news.
Yes, I can just picture Vladimir Putin taking a break from opening boxes at the end marked OPEN OTHER END and thinking, “Hmmm, I really must cause havoc with the electricity in Vermont. Maybe interfere with somebody’s vacuuming. Hah, hah, so much evil!”
The Washington Post completely ignores the most probable ‘outside agent’
With Trump in office I expected all He11 to break loose.
Add these up:
1. July 2015 Pam Geller: Saudi Prince Pledges $32 Billion to Promote Islam/Sharia in America “.. Saudis have spent billions already. 80% of the mosques build in America are Saudi funded. Islamic groups working to impose the sharia are largely funded by the Saudis.” Remember?? — 9/11 had Saudi footprints all over it. So you have Saudi Arabia not only funding Mosques but SUPPLYING clerics. (Lost link) WikiLeaks also shows Hillary KNEW Saudi Arabia and Quatar are funding ISIS.

3. Obama stuffed his Admin. with muslims who derailed any investigation of muslims, mosques or terrorists. They ORDERED Phil Haney, who worked in the Dept. of Homeland Security to DUMP all his work tracing terrorists.

5. September 7, 2016 Islamic State makes terrorism threat facing U.S. gravest since 9/11 attacks
So the threat from Islamic terrorist, unlike the ‘threat’ from Russia is REAL and DOCUMENTED.

And what is one or the Islamic Terrorist Targets???
Why the ELECTRIC GRID!
CNN 10/15/2015 ISIS is attacking the U.S. energy grid (and failing)
So let’s blame the Russians…
We need to harden our grid against an EMP attack.
A natural EMP catastrophe or nuclear EMP attack could blackout the national electric grid for months or years and collapse all the other critical infrastructures — communications, transportation, banking and finance, food and water — necessary to sustain modern society and the lives of 310 million Americans,” Pry this week told the House Committee on Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies.

While I disagree that a natural EMP would be so costly (they are not as powerful once they reach Earth), we should be taking threats from abroad seriously.
Suspected for years of plotting to dismantle the U.S. electric grid, American officials have confirmed that Iranian military brass have endorsed a nuclear electromagnetic pulse explosion that would attack the country’s power system.
American defense experts made the discovery while translating a secret Iranian military handbook, raising new concerns about Tehran’s recent nuclear talks with the administration.

How much you ask?
Government Spends Tens of Trillions On Unnecessary, Harmful Projects … But Won’t Spend $100 Million to Prevent the Greatest Threat
http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2012/11/preventing-armageddon-would-cost-only-100-million-but-congress-is-too-thick-to-approve-the-fix.html
America alone spends $24 billion per year on the Climate Change Industry, or 240 times what it would cost to harden our grid.
Or look at it this way, what we spend on the Climate Change Industry in two days, would be enough be enough to protect millions of American lives against a real threat.
Gator, that was the start of my rant over at E.M.’s about our unprotected grid. The above was the rebuttal to the ‘there, there’ nothing to worry about.
Yes, we can recover from occasional problems but we just do not have enough transformers in stock to take care of any type of mass attack. (Some guy took out a transformer with a rifle.)
The electric goes down for weeks to months and the cities die…

When and if they do that we need to target the governments of origion! Not necessarly where they came from but who funded them, and then target where they came from!
There is some work being done on GMD (http://www.nerc.com/pa/Stand/Pages/Project-2013-03-Geomagnetic-Disturbance-Mitigation.aspx), but EMP is an entirely different problem as I understand it. I’m not an engineer, but I’ve been told that GMD mitigations can make EMP worse, and vice-versa.
Well, I’ll be installing a generator at my home this year because I live in the wilds of New Hampshire and there’s always the possibility of an ice storm or blizzard taking out the power lines. Fortunately, my generator will be safe from the menacing unconnected laptop at Burlington Electric! :)
Hope you have a wood stove too. I really miss my wood stove. I used to cook on it all the time.
My remote Wisconsin dairy farm (several hundred acres) has a central family room (the original log cabin from ~1880) heated only by a wood stove. The rest is heated either by a high efficiency propane furnace, or a wood burning double wall firebox blown into the furnace plenum when we are there. (Kitchen stove is now propane). Bottom line, with a little electricity, we are mostly self sufficient at the farm. So the little emergency electricity (milking machine, central furnace determined) is a given times my 900 gallon diesel tank storage for the emergency genset–and fueling all the farm machinery!
We haul in several full cords of firewood per year using the small compact 4WD tractor, logging chains plus tongs, and multiple chain saws. We cut and split that wood using peaveys, chain saws, and splitting mauls. We store it all in the farmhouse cellar transported using an old Ford F250 HD 4WD long bed crew cab. My 1993 truck baby.
So, does this setup play in Chicago or NYC?
Nope. But in a crunch, they won’t get to my farm.
Any ice loss 5+ years must be sublimation. How something that receives no solar insolation for half of a year experiences a “radiation imbalance from CO2 in the air” is a mystery, isn’t it.
Maybe Tamino can explain it.
Or Joe Rohm.
Or that fool Brenda Ekwurzel.
There is somebody out there, somewhere, with a rational explanation.
I take that back.
Brenda explains nothing at all right here (look at the historical review she gives!)

Folks I sincerely hope you’re not giving any money to the U of CC!!!
It’s funny how americans like to make light of things until it actually happened. Then, you guys will overreact, start a war somewhere in the Middle East, then force the whole world to reminisce the event with you even after more than a decade. Just like 9/11. Oh, let’s not forget about the new trend of making everything into a movie, yeah?
